Everytime Slick Rick was about to drop an album, he had the worst luck to follow it. Everytime he dropped an album he either was getting deported (He is from London, England originally), or getting locked up over silly stuff. Plus, everybody considers him a legend...but he had been criminally slept for decades. Even after dropping dope verses on other people stuff, aside from him putting out albums himself.

@Daniel Hill hey bruh, nothing surprises me. You have to take the times in consideration. Everyone didn't have the same access to music at the same time and you have to factor in folks age and when they were able to independently check for music. Huge difference from the 80's & 90's vs the 2010's.

Ken is right about the Snoop anticipation off of The Chronic album. It was all Dre at first, but as time passed and it really sunk in before Snoop's own album release, it was Snoop that had the momentum. His debut showed that all across the US. Even to this day, it's fresh in my memory how much it was played and the sound of it. His debut was tha shiznit!

I still go back and listen to Reasonable Doubt all the time. For me that's one of if not the most timeless Hip Hop album that you can listen to at any moment or time. When it comes to the best and what meant something to me personally, reasonable doubt trumps anything else.

Jason Madden only one I would change would be DMX. No shade AT ALL, I just don’t resonate with his music like that. I was born in 97, but at the end of the day I don’t know what I would switch out with that album. For that reason, it’s solid. I’m sold on the others too haha

I'm surprised Sun Rises in the East wasn't brought up, that album has no skippable tracks and is a legit masterpiece IMO. Jeru is one of the all time greats and DJ Premier was at his peak.
