Everytime Slick Rick was about to drop an album, he had the worst luck to follow it. Everytime he dropped an album he either was getting deported (He is from London, England originally), or getting locked up over silly stuff. Plus, everybody considers him a legend...but he had been criminally slept for decades. Even after dropping dope verses on other people stuff, aside from him putting out albums himself.

@Daniel Hill hey bruh, nothing surprises me. You have to take the times in consideration. Everyone didn't have the same access to music at the same time and you have to factor in folks age and when they were able to independently check for music. Huge difference from the 80's & 90's vs the 2010's.

@Daniel Hill It's quite possible he only knew about 2Pac through his movies and affiliation with Digital Underground. And if he grew up in the south, they got a lot of music that wasn't coming out of their direct region late. Like 3-6 months late. Everybody didn't have a cable.

It was all Dre at first, but as time passed and it really sunk in before Snoop's own album release, it was Snoop that had the momentum. His debut showed that all across the US. Since 1984... NYC had my ears to these albums when it debut. 1. Doggystyle - Snoop Dogg (1993) Most anticipated debut album of all time due to the chronic. 2. The Chronic - Dr. Dre (1992) Most pivotal and well-produced album during the L.A. riots of all time. 3. Amerikkka's Most Wanted - Ice Cube (1990) Cube proven that he was NWA's crucial element. Throwing street life in our face. 4. Ready to Die - The Notorious B.I.G. (1994) Strongest solo rap debut since Ice Cube's Americkka's Most Wanted. 5. Get Rich or Die Tryin' - 50 Cent (2003) brought back street rap during the "Shiny Suit" Bad Boy era. BTW... Y'all forgot, "Long Live The Kane - Big Daddy Kane"
