Richard Gonzales I've found if it's metal that I like it winds up being Texan. Look at how heavy Texas groups are in general. A couple of sixties metal bands from Texas Bubble Puppy ,and Iota are worth looking into.

phydeauxddog but back to the topic : all Rock in Texas has a distinct and diverse sound. It's a big state full of Big influences .. w. hen I hear Dead Horse : I see The Houston ship Channel as it was back then : Bandidos working The bars as security ; their girl friends swinging it topless on tables .... gloom and fear running concurrent under the epidermal nightmare smog .... this is when Houston was the only city Texas with air pollution .... D.R.I and Retarded Elf got a whiff of this and scurried up out of there with Terrifying Wisdom ... Houston was living life at Mad Max beyond Thunder Dome speed ... they just came to Austin when they wanted to sell the rest of Us down at THE BACKROOM , a piece of their post apocalyptic Anarchistic action.
