Deadhorse & the Dalton Highway, stormy Atigun Pass, Muskox and Hunting: Bike Touring Alaska Part II

In this second installment of my Bike Touring Alaska series, I start my journey from the Prudhoe Bay-Deadhorse area as I head south on the Dalton Highway. There, I am met with the vast arctic landscape of tundra, many semi trucks, muskox, and a chance encounter with caribou hunters which leads to an outstanding experience. Stormy weather in the days after makes for a challenging ascent up Atigun Pass and into the Brooks Range.

I've never ridden the Dalton or done any long cross country biking but I would highly recommend some glasses, be it sun or just clear safety glasses but vehicles going by on a dirt road are a recipe for eye damage it would seem. Good luck tho!
