Hello from Columbus Ohio. Just was watching your adventures in the Everglades withe the saltwater crocks and bull sharks. . You asked to comment about the experiences with hardheaded catfish. Arnound 1995 in St Pete FL, at My in-laws had a condo on the water. I had some venison I was cooking out on the grills along the sea wall. My daughter (around 10 at the time) caught a hard head. I was not happy, and after unhooking it without incident, I kicked it back into the water. Butttt, one of the pectorals went thru the bottom of my new OSU Nike shoes. It broke off in my foot, but I was able to pull it out of my foot. More stories come with the adventure but I was lucky that the poison was wiped of and no pain, poison or after effects. There are more stories but I want to get back to watching your video. Larry C

BTW, the Bull Sharks in Flamingo are vicious. Most of the time when you hook up you will get three or four 8-10 foot mi Ayer’s show up and take your catch. We don’t even clean our hands in the water at Flamingo. We use the bait well. Keep your hands inside the boat.

Their population and range is slowly recovering. There was an unconfirmed sighting at the very southern end of Mosquito Lagoon which if true would be the furthest north they’ve been in a long time. There’s video of one in a marina area at the Southern end of Brevard County so not too much further to get up into the lagoon

There’s an American croc at black point marina
@gungadinnАй бұрын
Black Point Marina has a large male crocodile named Fred that's been there a few years. They also have a pair of manatees there. There is a fish cleaning station where the crocs hang out as well as waiting for the low IQ folks that manage to back their vehicle into the water from the blub, blub, blub.

When or if you get stuck by the saltwater catfish runs the slime off its body on the point where it stuck you it helps draw the bacteria out. I've been stuck 5 times in my life

He’s wrong by saying American saltwater crocodile. There is only one true saltwater crocodile in the world and they live from India to northern Australia! 7:16
@jasonn277Ай бұрын
You have it partially right, but attaching saltwater croc is confusing and wrong. Yes the American croc can live in salt and freshwater, but they are nothing like the saltwater croc that lives in the Pacific Ocean. They are just American crocs, and I see you know a decent bit about them. I’m just saying this because people constantly mis ID them as saltwater crocs that live on the other side of the planet. Like you said they are endangered so misgendering them to Floridians can really cause issues because many people here are a shoot first ask question later lol. Great video, just the saltwater croc part really scares people. Our crocs are way more docile and federally protected so I'm just trying to help spread info.

Regarding the wound. I've been stung like this several times by all different kinds of catfish during the years as selling specialized fish for aquariums. And the wound reminded me of one I got once and after long time like yours I eventually just took a nice big slab of GARRAMYCIN cream and packed it in with waterproof bandage (electric tape most likely, but I had some micropore tape and I used that. First of all that helped amazingly with the pain, and I changed and washed the wound once every 24hours and laid on a big pile of GARRAMYCIN and taped it tight again and after 3-6 days the wound had almost healed. Usually on like a cut or a bruise the cream will heal it with this method within 48hours but these Catfishes leave also some small pieces left and that's why it takes so long time unless you use GARRAMYCIN. Sorry about the caps lock but your video was the first I saw after coming home from a 3 week all inclusive 5 star Marriott stay in Sharm El Sheikh just freediving every day. But research the cream and use it and yes it contains some antibiotics but nothing wrong with that doing it properly. Your wound would definitely be better with some treatment like that. Inside you have small pockets of inflammation and without treatment and doing what I imagine I would also be doing is getting your hands dirty with engines and muck all day so some tape like I mentioned are awesome. 3M micropore it's like a thin papery tape they use after surgery and that breaths but is also waterproof laying it like a 2 -3 layers over the wound. In evening allow it after cleaning it to breath an hour or so without messing with it and then cream and tape and miracles will work. Much love from (finally home) Norway. Toby
@RIMHQ-YTАй бұрын
Also, I'm sure you also have stiff joints in the hand because of the inflammation. So treat it.

Y'all!! Love'n these adventures! I've been following two channels for quite a few years now, @TylerNolan and @ChandlersWildLife. Both of these guys live in southern Florida and have been working with reptiles for half their lives. They both own a lot of reptiles including venomous snakes and Chandler has a few different species of crocodile and alligator. I can't speak for them, but... I'd be willing to bet they'd love to have Howe2Live pay a visit and be throughly educated in many specie of reptile. Anyway, love what y'all do! Keep up the good work!
