Can attest. Sumo sticking point is lower. Conventional sticking points are more around the knee. The deadlift bar definitely gives a bigger advantage to sumo because it helps more at the sticking point. Personally I pulled 617 on the kabuki bar in a meet. 10 weeks later I pulled 585 on a stiff bar (both hook grip) with no stiff bar training. I'd be interested to see more lifters cross over to the other bar after meets and see what they're capable of and if we can start to see how much more of an advantage it gives sumo pullers. Mine is just 5.2% at a 418 dots you are at 6.5% with a 537 dots. I'd be curious what Haack is like.

I used a deadlift bar once as a meme and comfortably pulled a 20lb PR with no straps. But I'm also the quintessential DL bar gainer because as soon as my sumo leaves the ground it's a guaranteed make.

I'm kind of the same. I've never failed a lift that came off the ground. I'm keen to see how I can do on a deadlift bar I've never tried it.

As someone that's pulled on both a Texas and kabuki dl bar maximally in the 600+ range, you definitely would have had the 900 on the Buki

I have pulled flexi bar which was less resistant until you reach below knee by which time you've built up momentum and away she goes.

Personally i barely see Sumo and Conventional as comparable lifts but at least on a stiff bar it's not as blatant. Now with the Kabuki bar Sumo 'pulls' it's just straight into the meme lift category. Right up there with the extreme arch 'zero bench' bench.

@@BrazosValleyStrength I actually think it might make a difference, but the change in diameter would actually potentially hurt you. I'm a 90kg lifter and we use a squat bar in uspa for that class, and every time I go back and forth it feels like shit and has more whip than a power bar...

Regardless of a different feel, and I do understand that it feels different, we don’t see loads that are dramatically different based on squat bars. So sure, it’s different and may take some practice. But that’s basically my point here in the video. The deadlift bar instantly improves numbers with no practice. No have no thoughts on a squat bar because it doesn’t do that. Any gain/loss is not going to be huge for most people.
@juliawilliams1355

@@BrazosValleyStrength Its an extremely unforgiving bar to squat with, particularly if you walk out the weight. I had a lot of practice, my top end in training was significantly lower despite being about the same weight (in the meet I cut so I won't use those numbers.) 360 @ RPE 10, vs 380 @ RPE 9 when I switched back after not using a power bar for months. I was peaked for the 360 and not for the 380. I would say unless you are squatting over 700 this bar will be more difficult for the majority of people.

I don’t know how much you squat, but it is incredibly whippy and scary for people that squat anything heavy. It’s also essentially a deadlift bar in feel. So it ruins all things good about power bars.
