Eternus is often the color of the soul, especially on deadlock, I thought this would've been obvious lol (And the color fits well as it is the most striking color of any of the rank while also being the most significant based on lore)

I think these ranks, especially the last 4 ranks are biblical references where oracle and phantom refers to demons while ascendant and eternus are references to angels. You can search up "biblically accurate angels" and see where the design for Eternus comes from. The story design of the ranks are pretty cool where the first 7 ranks could represent the mortal realm where you climb ranks of a cult and the last 4 ranks represent the spiritual realm where you climb up from the underworld to the heavens.

@@DeadlockIntel it takes player impact into account. I was ivy and always had equal souls or more than the whole lobby. as well as top assists. even in bad lanes where I was behind I still had high individual impact. so thankfully it's not just Lose -40mmr or however they count it

@@DeadlockIntel ive heard it also involves your unranked matchmaking, i went 4W 4L and got phantom 5, my enemies on all the games felt like the enemies i usually see in unranked when talking about skill, the matches did feel considerably more balanced imo.

just saw a short vid, apparently it's based on your account + your rank games. So it incorperates the mmr from your past games and see how well you did individually(so stats like farm, damage ig?) in the rank games + how well you usually do on average
