Deadlock Vitality items explained

Hello guys! I see a few of you criticising the video length and I just wanted to clarify some things: my normal guides are around 30 minutes. Making a TLDR for items and item choices means you’ll miss out essential information to why those items are good/picked up. I am not saying this video is for everyone but the idea is that if you really want a deep dive into understanding each item better, this should help! MOBAs are extremely complex and you can’t just make a 10 min video saying this good this bad, in that case you’re better off just reading the item descriptions in game! I am obviously learning a lot as we go here because the channel is taking a completely different direction than the Valorant content I used to make and over time I’ll have a better idea of what video format works best for you guys, but these videos were the most requested thing on stream so I hope it helps for anyone who’s willing to take the time to watch it! These guides are awesome, Jonas. I think people don’t fully understand just how in depth this game is & they just want a quick overview. But, if someone wants to legitimately learn this game, they’re going to have to put the time in to learn these things. I feel like TikTok has rotted people’s brains into not being able to pay attention to something that isn’t extremely quick & to the point. No one wants to be patient anymore. Like, if you (the viewer) don’t have time to watch the video , break it up into 10-15 min chunks of watch time. Eventually, you’ll have seen the whole thing 🤷🏾‍♂️

The younger generation has the attention span of a goldfish. They can't consume stuff longer than 10 mins. It's why Tik-tok and Reels are massive and good old guides are dead and cinemas aren't successful. Also, why movie streaming exists. The youngsters can watch 5 mins, pause it and do other stuff. I appreciate the hard work and information you put into the guides. The game is complex in terms of builds.

@@annasamsonova3297 I find Asia servers unplayable but Europe opens at 6am EST and at 100ping its fine to play on. So there's only 2 hours out of the day where you can't really play.

Always saw clips of your lineups on Valorant even tho I never played it, but now i’m def going to be a dedicated sub with all this sick deadlock content you’re making. Note: Unlike aegis from Dota, killing somebody who has Soul Rebirth will still give you souls. Improper use of Soul Rebirth results in double feeding.

@7:15 One small suggestion is that I know many people can have trouble visualizing UI things. If you have the time in editing, adding a small screen shot as an example of what you are describing would probably help those folks a bunch. Enjoying the vid, just making the suggestion as Im watching.

44:22 can confirm as viscous main, colossus is extremely good on viscous, especially since you can stack its effects with gooballs innate resistances to become basically invincible for the duration. And if you have tier3 gooball, you can lifestrike with your puddle punches at the same time and slow enemies to a crawl.

I think you are right that people are scared about adding active items in their builds, but a lot of in game build guides also kind of mentions them as an afterthought and not something that can be extremely vital to a character or to win the game. Hopefully as people get more hours in the game this will change.

life strike is. I love it lmao. Ive started experimenting with it on a bunch of heroes. My favorite so far is a Melee yamato build. Absolute raid boss experience . With lifestrike, healing booster, colossus, and a random tech piece ((spirit armor, bullet armor, stamina , etc)) just absurdly durable. Instead of being a panic button for when im low, the Ult becomes debuff remover + power spike + pseudo metal skin all in one button.

Superior stamina truly is so good. As an abrams player it's key both to be able to chase down an enemy because of the huge distances you can cover, it's also crucial in trying to escape. The amount of times I've seen enemies say gg abrams carry because of the mobility this gives is insane.

@@Venilo2 depends on game to game basis but it's not uncommon to be my third, my build has a lot of 3k items to chose from. If enemies are running hard or I get ganked a lot I get it early, if not I get it a bit later while I build up my kill potential some more.

@@occido Makes sense, what would be your ideal order if you could pick? I personally always go headhunter first, then improved burst, and rapid recharge. So I always get superior stamina pretty late. Sometimes never at all, so I'm wondering if I should more often

@@Venilo2 I'm gonna assume you mean in general, not, in this case, abrams specific, because if it is I do put some questionmarks at those choices. With abrams I always go torment pulse first, next 3k lifestrike as it's huge for melee. Then I do enjoy superior stamina, but if I'm not at the previously stated conditions then superior stamina is a nice to have but not so necessairy obviously so I'll pick hunter's aura and point blank first to improve my brawling capabilities. Something like armor I may get somewhere inbetween as I see fit if at all. Then I'll grab superior duration and cooldown in the late game. (everything I mentioned is a 3k item)

I feel like in Dota, it is good all game long, and many games you van ALWAYS BUY it But In deadlock, you will usually win/lose before the item is necessary vs everything comp. Like against some enemies, absolutely a god send auto take. But vs most enemies, it's only "okay" or even useless until the start of the late game, where a bunch of the debuff/active items get very strong

mulling over divine barrier i think its REAL problem is competition if i take it, its almost always for move speed shenanigans. Or as a third/fourth slot pick after more important greens if i need IMMEDIATE power. but MANY of the move speed items are ALSO active items, and you can only have 4. So i tend to prioritize fleet foot and heroic aura over it. but maybe im underestimating it and should use it more...

I hugely appreciate guides from someone that is well spoken and demonstrably skilled, but at this rate we are talking two and a half hours for item guides alone. How do I recommend it to a friend, or even watch it myself? Which is to say, I really like this exists, but by god, can we get a TL;DR video about all three? A handful of good combos for general playstyles/characters, must-know info like "buy this cheap anti-heal item if you are up against such an such agent"?

@@kochtrevor Well yes, and it's a game that is has an utterly massive entry barrier for new players. A 20 minuet TL;DR is the sort of thing that massively helps with that. There is a lot of value in that. Reducing barrier for entry is extremely healthy for the game- virtually every friend I played with disliked their first match, and were we not just having fun together, wouldn't have gone for the second or third, at which point they buy into it. The first match being an enjoyable experience is a huge matter for a game like this, much like the first hour in a single player game.

At that point a lot of this info will be our there and you have to remember that people are still figuring out combis, etc. Like even the best builds are changing daily. The type of guides youre asking for are absolutely needed, but with where this game is in development right now, you'd miss so much information doing a tldr when people dont have that basic grasp yet Also to add, basically every moba goes through this in its lifetime. Dots, league, hots, smite, all of them. They didnt start out with all of those styles of guides or informatuon, they went through this same kind of process in a different way (information wasnt as readily available)

Not that kind of Spirit. Spirit damage in this game is magic damage. Check your skill damage. If you deal purple damage its magic damage or spirit damage. Spirit lifesteal mean you lifesteal from Spirit damage.

Extra health feels really bad. Like it's a lot of hp for 500 souls But I haven't noticed it be more helpful then extra regen ((or really ANY of the healing items, even restorative shot...)
