I was a fancy pants technology Marketing Exec who was blessed enough to be able to retire four years ago at 46. I immediately got into watching tree climbing videos and climbing and removing trees and doing storm damage with my wife and son as groundies for those that can’t afford to pay. Did a couple of dozen removals in 2024 and triple that in storm damage trims. I’ve also run 8 team charity chainsaw teams in hurricane cleanup efforts a couple of times. Thanks for all the learning and experience I’m able to get from your videos. You, Jake, August, Really Tall Tree Guy, and Billy have been my adult version of morning cartoons and allowed me to do this service. It is a rewarding hobby that keeps motivated to stay fit and gives me the problem solving I crave… all while helping others.

Groundie I guess... I am a Storm Chaser / Weather Tracker in south central Wisconsin and I have been doing this since about 1975. I have many years experience in EMS & Search And Rescue (SAR). After a tornado has devastated an area and if a tree gets blown down over the road I will sit there with all my hazard lights warning people until the Police get there. If it is OK for me to cut into manageable chunks to move to the side of the road I will do that if they want me to leave it for the county bulldozer to remove I will do that also. AFTER a tornado passes through I will do the Search And Rescue and possible first aid until the fire department arrives. After that I go around where there is tree damage to help homeowners with sidewalks, driveways and sometimes lawns. I will remove limbs and buck trees (cut them into 16-18” logs) that are already down. Sometimes I will make piles on the curb and other times I will just cut into small pieces and leave small piles on the lawn for younger people to take to the curb. I am in my 70s, retired, and physically bending over to pick things up isn't 'my thing” any more. I do enjoy helping people and I have done this all my life. I am NOT a meteorologist and I certainly do NOT have a doctor's degree in meteorology. I am just a citizen that helps people in times of need. NO I do not get paid and NONE of my equipment is paid by others. I could only wish to have sponsors for vehicle maintenance, fuel, and maybe a donut or two.

A certified KZbin climber here, and a U S Marine, Cpl, 1/6 , 2nd MarDiv, I love the 2500 but 1/4 pitch is not so great on your larger diameter softer woods, and be careful if you get your bar bound, throttling the 2500 several times with a jammed chain will cause you to damage the saw. Take care and stay Safe, God Bless, Semper Fi.
