someone could import it into an audio editor and split the waveform at certain point that gives them a big enough copy pasta loop that could extend into an hour. The trick is finding a loop big enough that you don't sense the repetition.

Jacob Schwartz I am willing to accept that you are not an asshole. The process is complicated and time consuming, I don't want to seem condescending at any point. It's not so much an "ear for music" either, it's more having a audio editor's mind for wading through minute details and suffering through infinitely repetitious playbacks. really annoying how people are commenting "omg this song is the next strobe!" the genre is called progressive, the only thing in common between this song and strobe are that they are both melodic and they are both progressive house. if you refer to this song as strobe you are basically referring to his entire work before 'for lack of a better name' and any other artists producing this genre of music as strobe. which is a very naive thing to do.

This track is definitely not way older then strobe. Strobe is from like 07, which was a rework of a track he started in 06. Cephei was produced on his ustream back in late 2010.
