I remember when in 2020 his family posted on Facebook that he passed away, i was shocked to the core because he was literally my favorite musician at the time, 90% oh his music was was just one masterpiece after another. He was on his way to become huge just like his mentor, the guy you are watching right now. He collabed with Grimes so he was already halfway there, r.i.p. Garrett.

It amazes me how Joel always becomes a magnet for binary thinkers and people who have no grasp of nuance; the kind that think you're good if you're popular and bad if you're not, the kind who think you have to hate another artist to hate what they're doing during their live shows. Joel is refreshingly human in that he's not above making fun of the artists he supports; people forget that he used to make fun of Skrillex a bunch whilst he was still on the Mau5trap label, it's essentially just harmless riffing.
