Fun fact: Using a leg a lamb as a murder weapon likely comes from Roald Dahl’s short story “Lamb to slaughter” Where a suburban house wife murders her husband when he asks for the a divorce with a frozen leg of lamb, and then cooks and feeds it to detectives later, effectively destroying the murder weapon. I mean, I guess it *could* be, but honestly, listening to a her talk about waiting tables when she obviously never has at any point in her life is more of a Rich Person Thing than a Badass Thing. And especially because the only reason she did not die in jail is that she was richer than god and the idea of 'brainwashing' briefly had a lot more plausibility to the general public than it does today; if she were Jeff Bezos' granddaughter instead of Hearst's, there's no chance she would have avoided conviction.

John Waters is definitely an excellent example of an “acquired taste”, but one that you become firmly hooked on if you give his films a shot and enjoy his willingness to follow his own rules and his creative originality. Serial Mom is arguably one of the best “mainstream” films he’s done over the years, and I’d dare say that it ranks up there with Polyester as my favorite film from him. He was recently released from the hospital following an accident, so I hope he makes a speedy recovery. The world just wouldn’t be the same without the world’s most delightful filth elder. ☺️

The way I understood the white after Labor Day was an English tradition, that when common people started to be able to afford white clothes, the elites made an agreement to not do it. To show what class someone was if they wore white after Labor Day. But who knows. lol

I mean it does kind of make sense that a seemingly arbitrary fashion rule was dictated by a bunch of rich assholes.

I’ve heard it my entire life 😂 I think it’s just a joke at this point

Unlikely, since Labor Day is a US holiday originating in the 19th century, and has never been a thing in the UK. I'm British and never even heard of the tradition until I watched Serial Mom (I was very confused by the whole courtroom scene as a result). As far as I know it's very much an American thing.

@@aziraphaleangel Ok, fair enough. These things always have more than one origin story.

This was the first DVD I ever owned… at the ripe old age of 7! My mother nearly turned into “Serial Mom” when she found it…

Considering he just passed away, now might be a good time to do an extended series of Kill Counts on Roger Corman's Poe Cycle

Great video as always, Dead Meat crew. Also, yes, Sex World IS a real movie. Its a hardcore parody of West World, where the resort matches people with robots to best help "solve their individual problems." Its surprisingly good.

I honestly miss my mom since today’s Mother’s Day 😔…my mom passed away around December last year and I plan on visiting her grave today to show how much I miss her and loved her 😌

My mom passed in 07. It gets easier but I've never stopped missing her. I listened to our song, her favorite song and just spent some time journaling. I hope you feel her energy at the cemetary today

18:36 Not the first bit of on stage antics by Donita of L7. One of her and the band’s most famous antics is throwing a used tampon into the crowd at the 1992 Reading Festival.
