it is ultimately because he is actually Insane. The change broke him mentally that he see's himself as a comic character (hint with the cartoon unicorns he halucinates) and talks to the readers/watchers. It just so happens to be true and that in itself is hilarious

Deadpool is actually pansexual in the comics. Men, women, aliens, interdimensional beings? He's into it. He talks about Wolverine and Spiderman a lot because they are his 2 major man crushes. But Spiderman is still owned by Sony, so they stuck with only referencing Wolverine for this movie.

I love the balance they achieved between the insane comedy and then the truly heartfelt, dramatic sad moments. Wade's personal troubles really had heart and that's what made the rest of the film so great.

In the comics wade wilson and wolverine were both products of the weapon plus program. A program that began with the creation of Captain America. Wolverine was the product of the 10th iteration, hence Weapon X (roman numerals). Wade came along later and they tried to instill Wolverine's healing factor in him. With less than perfect results. After that well sh!t kinda goes of the rails for good old Wade. Him and Wolvy have various, Altercations....interactions...inappropriate sexual advances by wade? It's complicated, but that's why all the Wolverine\Hugh Jackman references.

Ryan Reynolds is the perfect Deadpool tbh. He's easily one of the most talented, funniest and most attractive actors in Hollywood, and I love how all of his roles feel like they have a part of his own personality in them lol. (i.e. R.I.P.D., Hitman's Bodyguard, the Proposal, etc)

The studio kept cutting the budget. That’s why Wade forgot his ammo/guns twice in the movie. They weren’t even going to make this movie until some test footage got leaked, it was of the scene in the car with the lighter and all of that.

FYI Despite Mr. Izzard's assertions, Americans don't make so many of our villains British because we think of British people as bad. We do it because we think of British people as intelligent. For villains, it's to make them dangerously cunning, but you'll notice we do it even more for characters that are there to inform the protagonist. Roles like scientists, university professors, and unspecified computer geniuses are all disproportionately British in American cinema. So really, if your going to be offended, it should be at the lazy writing. Why waste time on character development? Just give them an accent! 😂

The movie keeps making jokes about Hugh Jackman because Hugh played Wolverine in the X-Men films. In the comics, Deadpool was part of the Weapon X program that created Wolverine. The characters have crossed paths numerous times, with Deadpool seeing himself as Wolverine's rival and feeling envious over Wolverine's popularity, while Wolverine mostly sees Deadpool as a nuisance whenever he's around. They also appeared together in the movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with Hugh and Ryan playing their respective characters, though the movie's climax makes very unpopular changes to Deadpool's character.

Cable is the son of Cyclops and a Jean Grey clone, Madeline Pryor, that X-men villain Mr Sinister created. He becomes a hero and a time traveler from the future who fights against Sinister and one of the most powerful X-men villains, Apocalypse. So a few fun facts about this film: This movie was made on a budget of only $58 million. To put this in perspective, the first Iron Man movie's budget was nearly triple that. There were a couple reasons for such a low budget, 1. Fox Century did not have faith in this film after Green Lantern, even less so when it was R-rated. 2. They were not impressed with the script. One of the only reasons this film was made at all was because Ryan Reynolds was/is relentless and *would not shut up about it*. He fought for this movie for OVER A DECADE. Another reason is, as someone explained down below, the test footage was leaked, and was met enthusiastic support by fans. So Fox gave the movie a snowball's chance in hell. It nearly made nearly triple its budget during opening weekend, immediately greenlighting Deadpool 2. At the end of its box office run, it had a final tally of $782 million.

Deadpool still has cancer it's just that his healing factor heals him faster then the cancer can kill him, though he can still be killed, it's hard to due so but it's possible, in the comics it would take you removing the immortality curse put on him by Thanos (long story) disabling his healing factor or any way to destroy all of him

Deadpool and Wolverine have always had a rivalry, since the days they spent in the military together. It isn't anything ground breaking or team busting, but it can get rather competitive and mean-spirited, on both of their behalves. So because Hugh Jackman plays Wolverine in the MCU... hence all the Hugh Jackman references. IIRC Deadpool is the Marvel version of DC's Slade Wilson aka. Deathstroke. Marvel literally confessed to him being a knockoff but the only ones who seem to care were DC Comics. Deadpool is so much better anyways.
