Henry Cavill has been fancasted as Hugh Jackman's potential replacement once he inevitably retires from the Wolverine role. Having him appear as a Wolverine variant here is a nod to that.

Channing Tatum had been trying to get a Gambit movie made with Fox for a very long time, but one thing or another caused it to never happen. Gambit is a Louisiana Cajun with a thick accent. Tatum has relatives from this area with thick accents themselves that he says he is drawing from. You would need a Cajun or someone from Louisiana to confirm how good he actually is.
