My theory is that it will be Doctor Doom killing the Council of Kang’s and taking the place as the big bad of the multiverse saga. That’s why people are saying it ‘saves the MCU’. It takes it in a different direction and even allows for a reappearance of a variant, perhaps wanting revenge on Doom later on.
