Also another way to turn subtitles on is to press C and if they are available they will automatically show up :)

My last job, I would voice and sign at the sign time. I would walk into the room and tell the patient "Hello I'm so and so and I am the housekeeper. I am deaf so I apologize if I do not hear you. I will be touching up your room for you". Apparently, almost every single patient would hear everything except for the middle, "I am deaf so I apologize if I do not hear you". Then they would proceed to throw a hissy fit during the middle of my cleaning because I can't hear them. I got cussed at many times and screamed at many times. One lady continued screaming several minutes long after I left the room. I could not finish cleaning and twice went to get the nurse, but the nurse didn't show up until almost 30 minutes later. The whole time, I could hear the lady screaming down the hallway as I cleaned other patient rooms. I also had another lady get furious and when the nurse in the room pulled me from cleaning the bathroom, the lady screamed at me, "Are you deaf?!" Like......I literally told you five minutes ago when I walked into the room. Music. I was just in Spencer's the other day looking for plasma balls and lava lamps. All I could make out was some screamo music playing over the speakers. No clue what the guy was saying. Then I noticed it got quiet and then I hear, "Let it go! Let it go!" The music went from screamo to Disney. I was laughing.

Love this and love both you guys. Request from me and please dont listen to me if this makes life anymore difficult, but when you guys are talking about the meme it would be cool if you also put the meme in like the bottom corner or something cause i kept rewinding the video and pausing it to try to read the whole meme because they went by so quickly.

This came into my featured homepage! I LOVE the second to last one, the unfamiliar sound when home alone. Once I was home alone with my hearing sister so not that bad, but the unfamiliar sound we both heard - it was so loud and only beeped once every 20 seconds but is still very irritating, this went on for 30 minutes and was still had no idea what it was, my sister told me it was above the oven in the cake tins shelf, I later used common sense and thought would it be carbon monoxide and opened the window, it was!!!! but it just needed more air and there is no carbon monoxide leak in the kitchen but it was scary right!

The unfamiliar noises gets me! You hear a beep but no one around you reacts and so, you wonder if it was your hearing aids? Lol - turns out it’s in the room, not you! The other one is how the aids can pick up a noise but you can’t work out what direction the noise came from!

Great vid. I can relate to one or two memes. People tend to talk more to my left side (fully deaf) but I turn my hearing aid (right ear very little or no hearing) side. Have great days every one. :-)

So funny. Yeah, I related to that. So funny. Sometimes hearing people ask me how to turn the closed caption on. I was like do you know how to read on the remote with two ✌️ CC? They say why two CC. I told them it short word for a closed caption. 😒 they were like oh! Smh that's funny. Well, I knew some of them to have old school history as like not know new technology for Deaf people’s experience. 😂😂😂😒😂😂😂😊

Question: If someone says they are Deaf, would it be ok to try to engage in small talk using ASL?
@PoppyOA2 жыл бұрын
If they’re in America that would be great! Jazzy is British though so speaks BSL - they’re two very different languages, so just make sure the person is actually American!

Please do not write "cos" instead of "because". It sounds nothing alike, so it makes someone look very stupid if the use this spelling. The rest of your writing is good with only very small grammar errors. In fact, you make less grammar errors then autistic people, and no spelling errors at all. Therefore, we know that when you write "cos", it is because you have an incorrect understanding of the use of this spelling, and not because you actually want to use that type of spelling (in other words, you definitely wouldn't use it if you were hearing). Almost everyone who writes "cos" are annoying children - even millennial and gen z adults who have decided to join the subgroups of millennials/gen z that purposely write a bunch of terrible, annoying shit with lots of other purposeful misspellings, acronyms that were not made up by geeks and therefore just make people look stupid (something that is not normal that way that "lol" and "brb" are normal), etc. Even those people do not write "cos" when they are adults. "cuz" is very slightly better and had been used in middle school letters since before the internet, but still looks really bad if it's used in subtitles or in a normally-written adult paragraph. The correct way to write it is " 'cause ", but at that point there is no reason to "abbreviate" it unless you are doing "exact, verbatim transcription" of speech. " 'Cause " is probably most often used in a novel to demonstrate a teenage speaking style or another particular speaking style. Otherwise, you might as well just write "because", because you are only omitting one letter and because the other two ways which some people sometimes substitute instead of " 'cause " both look stupid and "cos" would not even be remotely similarly pronounced as the word it allegedly represents.

she writes "cos" cos she's british mate It's really common for "cos" to be used in informal settings like this one
