Deaf Crocodile is certainly my go to of the Vinegar Syndrome partner labels. Their first release, The Unknown Man of Shandigor is a high recommendation, it's like Godard's Alphaville, a very low-fi sci-fi movie mixed with a bit of early James Bond, with that very French black and white aesthetic - it's very cool and stylish.

I was very pleased to see this video pop up in my feed. Deaf Crocodile truly deserves all the recognition and respect. They have built up an absolutely incredible and diverse catalog of releases in such a short time. I cannot recommend them enough.

Pied Piper blew me away. One of the most incredible animations I’ve seen. Heroic Times was also excellent. Deaf Crocodile are one label I’m always looking out for!

I picked up on Deaf Crocodile last year from another reviewer of boutique releases, Solitary Ronin, and have several of them. The discs I have are all good releases up to the level of all the excellent labels we know and love. The only ‘problem’ is they are region A and cost a lot due to being imports and the fees they incur. I try to wait for sales to reduce the costs as much as possible, which is a tad haphazard.

Fantastic overview of Deaf Crocodile. I first came across them via the Disc Connected, and have since picked up a handful of their titles. The Tune in one I watched recently and absolutely loved. A wonderful film, and their special features were so good.

Excited to see that Heroic Times is currently playing on Tubi and I head about The Pied Piper a few months ago due to an episode of the Bat & Spider podcast and I’m pretty sure a decent version is available on Vimeo but these are both discs I’ll be putting on my wishlist!

I love, love Deaf Crocodile and they've become my personal favorite boutique label. I can't recommend Delta Space Mission and The Son of the Stars enough. But I have probably seen about eight of the releases so far and nothing has disappointed me. They find some truly amazing gems. Great video.

Thanks for highlighting this label, I had not really checked their releases beyond wishlisting Ilya Muramets a year or so ago. I just ordered Heroic Times based on your video as it looks perfect for me. I see they have Kin Dza Dza listed as a future release; that film left a lasting impression on me after seeing it 10 years ago. Crazy sci-fi in the vein of Zardoz and Monty Python, i'll be sure to get that when its available.

I have been eying Deaf Crocodile's releases and they really do amazing work! I'm going to invest in a few of their via Vinegar Syndrome. The Kickstarter project also looks amazing! Thanks for sharing! Edit: I just backed the Kickstarter campaign and pledged for the full boxset. I was already looking at buying Sampo, The Tale of Tsar Saltan and Ilya Muromets. At Vinegar Syndrome Ilya Muromets is already sold out so it's great they are offering this boxset!

They put a comment on their website that they are no longer shipping to the UK because of VAT / return to sender etc (and I assume region A which is a big limitation) ... well, I guess I will have to check them out via ebay or some other source. Great video

They have some fantastic looking discs, but none are region B and I don't have or really want, a multi region player - it's a space thing. I emailed them last - really polite - but it's not worth their will to distribute in region B. My only hope is that Eureka or someone (please God not Arrow) else picks up the discs

Deaf Crocodile has likely had the legal right to make all of their releases region free, but they have made a deliberate decision to not want to serve other regions and so they will always lock every disc to Region A.
