Peter Wolf is a hero! He did Deafula, and I was a child when they showed it at my mom's campus. She was taking a sign language course, and I was asked to come because I loved Dracula so much. It was so cool to see the audience of both deaf and people who hear enjoy it. I knew it was silly, but I had so much fun. I am a filmmaker at times, and this video is very informative. I am not deaf, but my mother taught me to support all communities after she had an aneurysm and had limited mobility. This taught me to learn everything I could so that I can communicate and relate to anyone around me. Kudos to you guys and gals. This is a great video

As a hearing person interested in film, I definitely needed to learn about the industry from a deaf person's point of view. Thanks so much for your educational channel!

Two things: is history with two hands or one and deaf history month has some weird dates.
@TheStews8 жыл бұрын
+TheMisssally123 History is with usually with one hand.. did you see us sign something different?
@TheMisssally1238 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I guess I just didn't pay attention in sign class when I was taught that. I could have swore it was with two hands.
@RoganShannon138 жыл бұрын
+TheMisssally123 Yeah I think ASL actually has two signs for history - the one you see in this video with the H handshape, and another one using two flat handshapes signed like "process" but backwards and by the shoulder. The weird dates have a reason behind them :) March 13th is the date of the Deaf President Now protest in 1988, and April 15th is when the American School of the Deaf was established in 1817.

am I the only one that has been doing sign language for so long but still can't figure spell very fast or read figure spelling very fast... does anyone have any tips ?
@TheStews8 жыл бұрын
+Alexis B spell check lol... fingerspelling faster really is just a practice thing. I used to practice over adn over and over again until my speed got better. Reading fingerspelling faster is just exposure, exposure, exposure. The more you see it, the better you will understand it. Practice through ASLpro.com or asl.ms or with friends. You will get better, it might take a while.

Whoever interpreted was really bad, I'm sorry but sometimes when the guy signed something and the person reading them out wrong made it really irritating to watch.

I am a pure hearing individual and have to give credit were it is due The Deaf Communities are impressive the way they look out for one another American Sign Language, British Sign Language, French Sign Language and other signing forms of linguistics are impressive with hand, finger, and arm movements and other types of waving going on. How many can have there own sets and styles of electronic devices or materials in general like Alarms, Computers, Cell Phones or Smart Phones, Watches, Clocks, and more to the list. And the way they can read lips at times. They have writings with signed languages too many reading materials. Too bad if you are pure deaf hearing aids will not help.
@TheStews8 жыл бұрын
[Jenna] Sorry for not answering earlier. Must've overlooked this one before. Most Deaf people who are completely deaf tend to not care much about not being able to use hearing aids so it's not a big deal to them.
