I am not a member of the deaf/hoh community, and I wish wholeheartedly that they would include ASL interpretation as a regular part of all concert broadcasts because not only is it more inclusive, it generally elevates the musical experience even for those who can hear everything. @eluna34

@@silentmajority8365 And what about those who are HOH? Or people who communicate in BSL/ASL for other reasons such as down syndrome or autism? Or hearing people who just enjoy the language? As for film festivals for the blind, there is such a thing as audio description because the blind community does enjoy the film as much as people with vision. Most importantly, what do you lose by having major events be interpreted? It costs you nothing and it does not take away from your experience.

@@the_glitter_is how was I diminishing anything?😂 Talk about a strawman 🤦‍♂️ Look, I was just trying to help you. You made a statement about “phonetic awareness” and how she was able perform without hearing sound. My correction to you was essentially “it’s much simpler than that”… she can hear the rhythm of the music. This doesn’t take away from any other deaf person who exudes these “special powers” so to speak. This video is about her. Why you tried to make it about other deaf ppl I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ Ironically, you’re the one diminishing deaf ppl since your statement is insulting to ppl who are 100 percent deaf and can’t hear at all. Clearly what Justina does is amazing, but you can’t conflate her deafness with someone who is severely deaf when their experience is significantly harder to navigate.

I was just smiling the whole time. Her energy and vibe is so contagious. I love how passionate she is 😍. I remember watching a YT video about some community members learning sign language to surprise a deaf guy. That video was from years ago. It was so touching everyone was speaking his language. I hope this will bring a lot of opportunity and open more doors. I only know a few ASL but this is so inspiring I will have to look into learning more. 💓

I watched her performance next to Rihanna's and my volume was mute. Within the first moment of watching Justina Miles, I knew what song was being played because of her signing and giving the beat like she said. Justina Miles gives rhythm, beats, and energy - she's amazing.

She has brought dignity to the deaf community. Growing up as the son of a deaf woman I remember the stigma and condescension meted out to her. I carried much of that shame. It is uplifting to see members of that community being respected
