Deaf reporter from Gaza uses sign language to deliver news to international audience

Bassem al-Hebl, a deaf 27-year-old aspiring journalist from Gaza, spoke to MEE about his dream of becoming a reporter and using sign language to deliver the news about Gaza to the deaf community all around the world.

Even though the situation that he is in is dangerous and he risks his life daily, like so many others. I am happy to see representation of the deaf and also a way to let others know, what is going on. I am not deaf, but every time I have seen news reports on the Genocide/Slaughter I have found my self asking, why is there no one deaf who can sign reporting. CC are not always reliable. I hope by showing him, it will help him get equipment and be able to pursue his journalism dream and the dream that we share to together that Palestine will be free. Bless him and all those that show the struggle of humanity to the world.

Look up San Pedro Prison in La Paz, Bolivia. It's a prison ran by the inmates without any guards inside the prison. People are born inside and they have their own economy. It's still a prison. Gaza is literally the same thing but on a massive scale, and of course far more worse, since the Bolivian army doesn't periodically "mow the lawn" within San Pedro Prison, nor does the Bolivian army bomb the prisoners, torture the prisoners or just outright massacre them. Calling Gaza a free and autonomous territory over which Israel has no control, is like calling San Pedro Prison a free and autonomous prison over which Bolivia has no control. It's absolute bullshit.
