That "loving caring romantic phase" doesn't exist. Remember the narcissist lives inside a fantasy, and it's their desire for you to be their slave within that shared fantasy. Knowing who you are and what your boundaries are when abused by the narcissist, will not jive with the narcissists fantasy (also known as self-delusion).

It does not work with abusive parents. One of the many reasons is: there is nothing before the abuse one could go back to.

I forced myself to get out, because I knew he would hoover me and my boy. I told my sons school that we were suffering abuse. That way I knew I'd lose my kids if I stayed, and I love my kids too much to let them grow up in this any longer. Going on week 3, order of protection so he can't (well should not) reach out.

The fact that they are a narc is the ultimate deal breaker…you will not have a mutual valid relationship with this person…EVER!

Thank you for this video. I married the x doing “the right thing” for my son. Now, my son is his business partner, a source of knowledge, a function. I fled the beatings and the cheating and my girls live in different cities. I could have done this on my own. He was just dead weight.
