Took a trip to Deal Pier in Kent to capture a sunrise, cold morning and the speed of the rising sun makes vlogging difficult , so i decide to show you a brief run through of how i processed one of the images i captured from the morning, hope you enjoy it, please leave a comment if you have.

Tough conditions Lee but you made the best of it and came away with some cracking images, was nice to see you process an image, always good to see a journey to the end ! I totally get how hard it is to Vlog, drone, do b roll and nail pics when the sun is coming up so fast, until you’ve done it you just don’t realise ! Well done that man, great Vlog as always and wishing you a very happy new year.

Thanks Daniel , first vlog for a few weeks and its like learning all over again lol add to that the speed the sun rises when there is no clouds in the sky , was hectic but i concentrated more on capturing the images first and the vlog comes second , still feel uneasy about putting out a vlog like that but in reality thats how many shoots go , Thanks for the comments mate and Happy New Year to you too !

@@LeePelling I totally get you with it, it’s hard putting out a video which didn’t go as planned, but equally it’s nice to see reality and how you overcome the obstacles to come away with shots !

Great video Lee! As someone who spends a fair amount of time at the coast, I felt your franticness in rushing to get images and vlog at sunrise, especially when you don't have any clouds to delay how fast the light changes. Having said that a couple of really nice 1.3 second images that captured the movement of the water nicely! And the classic shot under the pier was fantastic. Nice to have a high pier like that! Loved the drone footage. Also enjoyed hearing the sound of the incoming surf on a rocky beach - nothing like that sound! And a great look at your editing process. Really enjoyed this one mate!

Thanks Paul, little out of practice i think after the break, but really enjoyed the morning being out and watching the sunrise is always enjoyable. Still getting to grips with the streamlabs obs software to screen record but i think it will be a nice little addition to some vlogs . @@LeePelling yeah, I find it really hard to record bits to camera when at the computer. I can do it when I'm out on the shoot but have to do several takes when I'm trying to talk at the computer, 🤯🤣. Keep up the practice, 👍📸

The last photo you showed was pretty good. Dawn photography can go either way, regardless of the weather. You did a good job.

Hi, thanks for watching , glad you liked some of the images , i think this pier looks better from below , i guess thats why its such an iconic image , the symmetry and the long exposure together is what makes that image, but some colour in the sky would of been nice, but cant have everything, thanks again, take care.

Thanks Paul, it was a bit of a rush to film everything that morning, as the video had to come second but despite the lack of clouds i was pretty pleased with a couple of the images and the editing is something i have never really done , i was still trying to work out the software and didnt have a plan just winged it, sadly i think that showed but its a starting point, thanks for watching mate, take care

Mate those beach's and that pier bring back memories. i use to live in Brighton and watch was there the day the pier burnt down 2002 i think it was. You got some really great images Lee and love seeing others edit there images and their thought process.

Wow you certainly have travelled around mate, Brighton is probably a two hour drive from me , have visited in the past and seen the old burnt out pier. The processing thing is a start , just wanted to get the set up right, still learning the software and switching from live camera to screen recording using the mobile phone as a switcher , lot to learn but enjoying the journey as they say !

So many similarities to my sunrise shoot on Wednesday just gone - no time for pieces to camera or b-roll, didn't notice the (in my case) flares across my frame, no clouds in the sky so the sun went from beauty to harsh in minutes! Bloody fun though isn't it haha Cliche or not, really like the under pier shot. Funny you mention the 'fresh eyes' bit - I often find that I can see 'under' my edits and it always looks bad. Have to sometimes leave the screen for five minutes and come back to realise that it looks fine after all. Great vid Lee.

Hi Dave, i was not sure if it was just the fact i had not been out vlogging for a few weeks and was out of practice or if it really was a tricky morning shoot. Still , was good to be out in the oh so fresh air and see the sun rise, if there were a few clouds , could have been lovely but there you go , always want more ! Beautiful morning! I watched this to see how you handled the challenges of a pier at sunrise. I’m currently editing the photos and video from a similar morning shoot in Florida. Much warmer conditions than you had! Loved your drone footage. Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts during your editing. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, i dont fly the drone as much as i thought i would so i am not really confident with it , really should make more use of it, thanks for watching and i look forward to seeing what you got from Florida , think i know where i would prefer to be ;-)

@@LeePelling hahaha! It was a beautiful and much needed respite! I couldn’t fly my drone at the pier in Venice. Airport across the road and the no-fly-zone bisects the pier. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I got 1/4” off the ground and the app shut down the drone!
