Dealer support, model line up drive farmers to choose Krone balers

Round balers come in many sizes with a wide range of capacities and capabilities. But it's important for farmers to find the right baler for their operation and a service dealer they can rely on to keep them running through harvest.
In this report from Agritecnica, RealAgriculture's Shaun Haney and Krone territory manager David Taylor take a look at the German baler maker's VariPack belt bale, which is specifically designed for baling dry crops.
Taylor says the baler is built on simple technology, high throughputs and high baling densities. It also delivers versatility and fits a wide range of farming operations - from small farms producing 300 to 400 bales up to commercial operations that make 5,000 bales annually.
There's more versatility when it comes to tractor horsepower required to get the VariPack around he field and make bales efficiently."If customers are willing to sacrifice a little groundspeed, we can probably put 85 horses in front of it. But if you want to put the pedal to the metal and (run) wide open, we'd like you to have 110 or 120."
Farmers from all over North America, Asia and Europe flocked to Agritechnica. For those looking for a baler for their farm, Taylor offered advice on what questions they should ask when buying a machine. "At Krone, we pride ourselves on being hay and forage specialists. So I think it's important that a customer can rely on the company, rely on the service and the parts, beyond the sale, and down the road," says Taylor.
"But the main thing is to get a product that is tested and capable of handling whatever crop conditions in areas that they operate," adds Taylor. "Find a good dealer partner that's willing to help you add to your bottom line because that's what it's all about."
