Treat every customer like they're your family members. My mission is to always ask as many questions as it takes to find a few things in common then use those as my closing tools. I've been in the game since the mid 90's. Started out as a porter and worked my way to becoming a GM. I retired from management and decided to get back into the trenches and do sales again because being in management these days isn't worth the brain damage. Best decision I ever made. I'm making almost the same as the sales management but working lot less with only my customers to worry about. I follow one simple rule. Treat every customer like they're my family.

Man I've always thought I'd be bad at sales, but after listening to this I'm convinced I'd be better than most, if this is the standard. How hard is it to say; who is the car for? What is it about this model that makes you consider it? How soon are you looking to make a decision? What's most important to you when purchasing a car, is it luxury, safety, price? I'd love to help you out with that. Have you thought about a (similar model), it may suit your needs also? We have a big range it'd be great to help you with this. BTW, I have been marketing for a sales trainer for the last 12 months and I have picked up some of these questions via osmosis. Trust me when I say, TRAINING HELPS. I see it every week. I'm not in America and I'm not a sales person, but if I was I would take whatever sales training this lad is offering. He is on the money.

People don’t care how much you know when they know how much you care. That is one of the best things I’ve heard in a KZbin video
@v6hellcatawd9013 жыл бұрын
Andy Love your website, videos and energy. Been with you since you had just a few thousand subscribers. I had just started the car business almost exactly 1 year ago. So I looked to KZbin for help. I came from a grocery store and had no clue about anything in the dealership world. After going through 5-7 videos from other people I found your channel. I'm glad I did. You gave me the confidence to sell cars when I was struggling to handle objectives. I'm happy to see you and your company gets bigger and better everyday. Thank you for helping me out. I will always remember and appreciate it.

I’m amazed hearing these calls even before I started learning with you it’s been drilled into my head that when you pick up the phone you immediately take control of the conversation by asking questions as you answer them. No wonder they say you can’t do a car deal over the phone

I used to sell cars and while i was pretty good at closing people on the lot I always struggled selling appointments over the phone. Now I work in retention at another company and truly understand the value of rapport and setting your own pace on the phone. If only I could go back :(

Dealership actually tell their salespeople not to ask for names. They believe in give give give and not make it awkward by already asking for the name and take care of the customer first which can be both good and bad. I think sales people should be able to write their own script. Those door to door sales man also use “we just worked with Nathan down the block so we thought you might have the same problem too” TOO damn much lol

I’ve seen you always ask for a better price over the phone yet I’ve never seen you answer how to overcome the objection. If you are asking for a better price and she says they will do a better price on the floor… well then your presence is your leverage… it’s not entitlement, its sales tactics that they’ve been taught as I was taught. I don’t personally use them as Ive always been a customer service first person.

Andy, I am a fairly fresh car sales man. The store I work at is one price and we base our prices fair according to JD power, and KBB etc. I’m curious what you’d want me to tell you when you ask for a better price? My assumption would be to continue to convince the car is worth what it’s value is listed at?

First off you do great work Andy, thank you for everything! Quick question for you I just got hired as a sales remote employee for a window installation company. I’m excited to start I just have this one fear, stumbling over words when speaking to a customer. How can I break that anxiety? I feel well prepared thanks to all of your tips/guides. It’s just a speech thing, what if I stutter on accident? Thanks!

Andy, do you think that GMs are telling their sales staff in the morning to hold firm on all pricing as they know inventory is at an all time low and 'we'll get 10 leads on this vehicle' vs. the 2 or 3 they're used to? As a former GM, I'm not surprised at these calls, but I am surprised to hear how easily they give up. I haven't been in a store in a couple of years, but I imagine that some units are getting 10 calls day on them.
@AndyElliottOfficial3 жыл бұрын
The lack of training across the nation is insane… To be honest most people just don’t care anymore and won’t invest in their teams to get training… And if they do invest they’ve invested into the wrong training! I would tell you that a store could triple it’s business overnight on my program and the ones you were using are killing it! Training is the magic!

I wanted to provide feedback: I have always been programmed or told that when someone is calling on the phone that you don't want to give any information and don't discuss numbers unless they are in the dealership and that chances are if they are calling in, they are just "wasting time" "kicking tires" so they are treated as less of a priority. When I type all of that out, it seems really counterproductive but I fear I'm not the only person that has been made to think this way. This salesman sounded like his mindset was "Okay, so he calls in and wanted pricing on the truck then wants to negotiate over the phone. I go and take my time to get his information and when I come back tells me he wanted to keep shopping. He wasn't serious. He's just calling around trying to play us against each other. I don't have time for that" and turns out you could've been serious

I get where they are coming from. With that market dealers have the upper hand. If a customer won’t pay the asking price there are other customers that will. I agree they did a horrible job, but the market allows it.

If what you're saying is happening in 99% of dealerships, what do mean "get crushed by the competition"? 99% means everyone is doing it. So if everyone is doing it, then so is the competition. So there is no competition.

I like this dude’s energy and approach a lot, but in a previous video, he focuses on teaching the importance of portraying a content energy in that you as the sales person are okay with or without the sale going through. Seems a bit contradictory with the feedback he had for the gal on the phone and her take it or leave it attitude. She seemed to embody the very attitude he recommended having.
