If I were you I would have primed/sealed all of the blue paint. I had that same problem when I painted a canopy for a pick up. The customer came with an already painted one and I repainted it and the colour was way off. Since then I've primed anything that has colour on it! Really living the build tho!

I agree , never paint over another color cause most factors prime their vehicles and when you have a dark color . The new color will turn out a little darker because primer is a light color .

ALWAYS use primer/sealant before your base coat. Not surprised at all by your results, knew it would be like that when you shot the red on top of the blue. Dont blame the paint mix, do the correct prep before you shoot your color coat.

I also noticed that they did did not prime the blue panels before painting. I guess they were rushing to meet the 24 hr. Rebuild constraint they set for themselves. Now they have to redo what should have been done right in the first place. 😢😅😂

You have to blend on to these colours anyway. Unless you use the same robot. Thickness of coats and how you apply the drop coat will affect paint match.

Velvet tricoat is one of the hardest colors to paint match from Chrysler. Better to just repaint the whole car with the same mix. Love the build. Keep it up.

It cracks me up that every time you unpack something your dogs are right there with their noses in the box, since they are dialed into the sound of rustling paper and plastic possibly meaning some food or a treat. These colors you can't paint separately, you have to blend them in order to match, you should've painted the inside of the doors and the pillars first, stall the doors and paint the car blending the fender and bumper

I live in residential and the stock exhaust is super nice, it won't wake the whole neighborhood and honestly the valves are nice to. I mean for daily driving the way the car is setup is perfect I think.

Those transparent reds like that can be interesting. You shot the red base over the blue panels and its influencing your final color. It should have been sealed with the proper G shade sealer. Probably would have been really close then. Always admire your fearless style of getting into any kind of build regardless of the size of hit!

@@goonzquadsometimes the color has enough pigment to do that. Manufacturer's nowadays paint for final color and not coverage. Robots are programmed to spray only what is necessary to achieve final color and relative coverage .That's why the undercoat colors are so important! I don't think the problem is with the paint, I would swear that the problem is that you painted red on top of the blue and even if it covers, it is not the same as painting over a layer of light gray primer and that affects it. If you look, it turned out to be more purple than red.

Give you guys some advice. Don’t drive like that on public roads. It’s all fun until someone gets hurt or killed. I’ve worked enough accidents in my life to know because I’ve seen it firsthand way too many times. It’s not a matter of if but when. Other than that love these more realistic builds. Now you need to take the charger and track hawk to the drag strip and race them lol. We all know the all-wheel drive Track Hawk is gonna win.

The issue is the paint for sure. It’s a 3 stage paint spray and it’s hard to match. My charger is the same color and had to get my front bumper replaced. It took the repair shop 5 tries to get the paint close enough but you can still tell in the shade.

It’s actually been proven that “warming” the car up does nothing. Lol. The point of warming the vehicle up is to make sure that oil is circulating throughout the entire engine, but it’s almost instant. Oil is everywhere it needs to be within a couple seconds. But with that said, I never goose on a cold car regardless.

If you drilled through the Catylytic converter that's why you are getting the back fires and pops. It's messing up your downstream oxygen sensors. Need to put some high performance Cats on it.
