Easy link to the Frostpunk playthrough - kzbin.info/www/bejne/b33MepV7d692i5I You'll want to catch up on the story before the next installment comes out, the plan now is to do it in about a month. It was going to be sooner, but I've decided that the month of the puzzle game is about to begin. I've got some great puzzle game plans coming real soon, don't miss it!

Low-key, I always thought that Frostpunk was a pretty decent game, however your playthrough on it made me slap myself in the face for calling it a decent game. It's one of the most well-made games I've ever seen and your playthrough amplified my experience with it. It would be awesome if you went back to it and played around with the scenarios and the sequel when it comes out, I'm thoroughly invested in it and it's now in my wishlist!

For vampire survivor, because there's a lot of waiting, I really like the surprisingly chill vibes. The little updates on the channel and stuff like that is nice. So glad to hear that more frost punk is coming out soon, and especially glad that we're getting extra. As for everything else you mentioned about the channel, I think you're definitely going in the right direction with your new plans, and it's a very smart way to manage a channel that I'm surprised I haven't seen very much of. Keep up the good work, you're quickly becoming one of my favorite channels.

Since almost everyone is talking about Frostpunk, I might as well share my thoughts on it. I was really surprised to see someone play the game (now that it's been out for almost 4 years) and since there is so much different stuff you can do, every playthrough of a different person is worth watching. Sadly the replayability is... small to non existent, at least for a person like me. The game lives from the unexpected events happening, so you'd need an all new story to play it again. Makes me even more exited for Frostpunk 2 tho!
@WillMAW2
@WillMAW2 2 жыл бұрын

@Whitewingdevil

There's... limited replayability, at least there are different starting scenarios like the Wall or that one where you build bridges to get around, or the one where you build a generator. They all have different storylines to go with them, with a few different outcomes you can get, so there's at least a good 20 hours or so of content in the game.

I must say, this channel is just an underated gem. I started watching since Understand and have checked out a whole lot of your other series. Everything you put out is always interesting, showcasing great puzzle games and indie games, which is a sort of niche i very much need. And your personality is just perfect for the genre, giving a bit of a thought process behind puzzle solving and content creation etc. Glad to have this channel as a part of my routine.

I feel like your thoughts about the "deep impact" on certain series depends on the difference between immediate dopamine and a certain level of satisfaction, like how Frostpunk was essentially a deep struggle through hellish conditions, and emerging on the other side alive. That kind of experience, along with the drama along every step of the way, gives audiences a level of closure at the end, whereas games like Vampire Survivors is just a bit of a quicker dopamine hit.
@Aliensrock
@Aliensrock 2 жыл бұрын
True! And that's the other reason I need a solid combination of the two. Too much of the drama-based videos could be draining, and too much of the instant dopamine could feel hollow. I'll be spending a lot of time tweaking to find just the right balance.

I would say, I didn't feel "extreme happiness" like you put it in this video, but it was mostly extreme stress and being on the edge of my seat to see how things turned out. It was interesting to see you make these tough moral choices that had genuine effects on the people of the game. I quite enjoyed it, but not because I was happy to watch it, in fact I would say I was stressed more often than not while watching it, but seeing you make it through the challenges under this intense pressure filled me with relief when you made good choices (like dismantling the propaganda center) and stress/terror when you made hard, bad, but necessary choices. I would love to see more series like Frostpunk, 100%

You don't seem to be alone in that! Was searching for a way to describe that during the video and missed, but providing tension in my videos is incredibly important. I try to inject tension into series like this and Inscryption, and often it's met with disdain. I'm happy to have found a game where tension is the point, and will have to continue looking for others that fit the bill.

(And all the talk of Frostpunk has me wanting to rewatch the episodes of that- it's so fun and positively intense to watch!!) BTW!! I dunno if this game would entirely fit your style, Tyler, but I'd like to reccomend a game called Lobotomy Corp!! Frostpunk hit so hard because of the pacing. I was pretty much positive you had no chance but you kept holding on by a thread and it was absolutely amazing to watch. Literally an edge of your seat series. As you get better at the game I’m wondering if the element of struggle will be as prevalent. If you were to fully optimize the game to a point where every play through is nearly identical, then i could see it losing appeal. There’s nothing like that first blind playthrough though, chasing the dragon now.

If you’re looking for games to ply, I suggest outer wilds. You explore a tiny solar system in a 22 minute time loop trying to solve the mystery of the aliens who suddenly died out millions of years ago. Some puzzle solving, great mystery, a bunch of interesting locations, and an amazing ending. It’s pretty different to the stuff you usually do on the channel, but it’s one of my all time favorites. Your first two frostpunk vids got me to buy the game and play through all of it (main game + free dlc). Haven’t really kept up with the series on your channel because I was too busy experiencing it myself but now that im a couple weeks removed from finishing it I’ll prolly go back through your vids on them. If Elden Ring didn’t come out this year, Frostpunk would easily be my game of 2022

If I see more frostpunk, you know I'ma click it. Your commentary is amazing, I original found you via puzzle game stuff, and I loved how you explained your thought process. And seeing that in frostpunk is honestly, Very entertaining. Looking forward to more FP content!

If somebody here hasn't seen Tylers Frostpunk playthrough I highly reccomend it. (even if you've seen it from someone else!) It was just so entertaining and honestly couldnt wait for the next episode every day. I was just sat there hoping he would upload Frostpunk that day. Without spoiling anything watch it :3

I completely agree regarding Frostpunk. It was incredible. When I was at work during the day all I could think about was going home to watch the next episode of Frostpunk. It was bitter sweet when you beat it. I admit I was a little selfish but I was almost hoping you would lose so I could watch you play through it again 😅

One challenge that I managed to beat after some attempts is playing hyper mode on Green Acres, starting with 50% curse, forcing myself to take the curse item every time it appears, while playing the character that gets extra curse. I don't think it's possible to beat without powerups, but that would of course make it the true ulitmate challenge.

So we learned that the only weapon you need is la borra, just with spellbinder, candleabrador, and bracer (attractorb obviously)

Speaking of games that make people subscribe / stay, I’d have to say for me Baba is You was a perfect series for that. I found you in BTD, but Baba is what got me to be a longtime fan. It’s the series I first subscribed for, and I’ve rewatched it several times now. The recent games have also been just reinforcing the point that I’m going to be staying, and I’m sure there’s lots of people that agree.

la borra + red death is indeed cracked, because it's actually based on your movement speed, not projectile speed

Am I the only one who thought of the Demon Core when they saw the maxed-out La Borra? Tyler wasn't kidding when he said it's like a nuke lol
