Dealing with Condor Tool & Knife Customer Service.

I had a problem with a Condor knife. I contacted Condor Customer service and this is how I was treated. ........Dave Whipple

Well, what can I say... Ive been Condor TK Representative in my Country for about a year and now also a designer. In CondorTK I found a great team, very interested on to make good quality material and always caring about customers, so that is why I wasnt surprised for what they did in your case. I was a Condor knives user before becoming part of the team and I did it because it is great material for an unique price. In my opinion, best price-quality relation. Had a similar experience with a Duku machete bought on Amazon. They were quick to make it right. I received a new machete straight from the factory within a week. They paid all shipping. As a result, I now own several Condor knives and an El Salvador machete. Even sent my nephew a double bit throwing axe for his birthday. All of my purchases have arrived in A+ condition since the issue with the Duku (warped blade). Condor has won a lifetime customer. Well done!

Good review on Condor’s customer service. I feel like it’s a dying business concept. I have a couple Condor blades, and they are great. They aren’t safe queens, but workhorses. It’s nice to hear they back their product.

I had the same great service from Condor. I was having problems with micro-chipping on my Condor Bushlore blade, probably because of the true scandi grind I kept on it. I contacted Condor and explained what was happening with their 1075 steel. They asked for pictures and then sent me a new knife and didn't even ask for the original knife back. I ended up with a scandi-vex type edge on the original knife due to all of the hand sharpening and stropping I did in the field to get rid of the microchips. Not only does it not microchip anymore but it has much better edge retention with the new scandi-vex edge on it. It has now become one of my favorite knives to use for woodcraft. I maintain the factory micro bevel on the new knife because I don't trust 1075 steel to hold up with a 0 degree scandi grind anymore. Both knives are still wood hogs even with the convex and micro bevels.

I have many condor knives and they have all been great. Most knife companies skimp on the sheath even when the knife itself is expensive. Not Condor, they have sheaths that are of the highest quality. I'm glad you posted this video, nice to know they stand behind their products.

I have never owned a Condor, but I am much more inclined to purchase one now that I know they have such good customer service. I had a similar situation about two years ago, or so, with Schrade. I bought an SCHF10 from an "overstock" website, I got a really great price (less than half what the same knife costs on Amazon, even factoring in shipping). When I got the knife I didn't notice right away that the micarta handle slabs on one side of the knife didn't meet the tang, in fact there was a sizable gap. The first time I cleaned the knife, about two weeks later, is when I finally noticed that. I got in touch with the customer service from the site I bought the knife from, they basically shrugged at me. So I called Schrade. WOW! What a difference. They had me send pictures of the problem. I didn't hear anything back for a few days, just as I was thinking "Guess I'm stuck with this" I got an email with a shipping tracking number. They sent me a brand new SCHF10 with perfectly aligned handle slabs. I did have to pay to ship them back the original, slow boat from China shipping put that at $8, but they also let me keep the sheath from the first knife as well as the one that came with the second because I called and told them that I liked the first one better. The Schrade CS rep didn't even blink, "Just keep them both, then you'll have a spare if you need one." Love the SCHF10, by the way. It's been a great knife for me.

Fantastic company to deal with, I had a condor knife bought for me several years ago by my girlfriend and unfortunately it had a bit of a bend to it, I didn't say anything at the time as I didn't want to appear ungrateful, years later my girlfriend used the knife herself and noticed the bend and went mad that I hadn't let her know. I contacted condor and added photos and a week and a half later they had sent me a replacement all the way to the UK, absolute legends, I have bought condor knives for many years and they're always great knives, top company.👍😁🇬🇧

I recently bought the bushlore blank. Handling knives is my favorite hobby. This blank arrived with the finger swells bevel 7° off 90°, but otherwise, very nice for $22, shipped. I contacted the seller, told me to contact Amazon. Contacted Condor, was told the same thing. I'm glad you had a great experience with them, mine was luke warm at best.

@@Bushradical i am working on it now. I re-profiled the angle using my old belt sander, flipped over on my bench. I chose a small cherry burl from my firewood pile, with blue oil jug liners. It is coming out better than I expected. I was a bit pissy, so i wet sanded the words off the blade, up to 1500 grit. Ha. Not sure how to share a pic of it, but its pretty ah.

I just received a Bushlore yesterday and I love it. I had to sharpen it but for the price I'm not complaining. I love the feel and shape of it. I'm actually looking at the village parang machete I think it's called. I definitely want to add more of their products to my tools!

I'm not a fan of knives not made in the US. But Condor is run by a good group of folks and I've had a solid experience with the beater basic I picked up. They handle their customer service well. And pump out an affordable and reliable product.

My thought too. What turned me on to condors is that they have designs I like made with decent steel, for a reasonable price....Love all of that. All my use knives are older ones, so I don't have any opinions about the new stuff. I went camping last week with Chris Wilkes, from Chris Wilkes Survival....and his brother Brody Wilkes...those boys had a slew of good American knives and They were very nice! Several from Bark River, really good stuff.

That´s what a good customer service should do. I was a representative of Leatherman tool Co. in Venezuela back in the ´90s and we change a defective tool, no questions asked, if you had a broken Leatherman...we change it for free, no questions asked..., no receipt, we didn´t care, you had the defective/broken tool, that was enough!!

I own at least a dozen TOPS, and after my experience with their customer service, there won't be a 13. As for Al Mar. I don't know how the company was before his passing, but I'd wager that he would not have tolerated the shoddy customer service. I own one and only one Al Mar knife and there wasn't another that followed. 'Ever tried to buys a TOPS you want? Most everything in the catalog is out of stock..., any where! Buy a Condor.

I just ordered the Huron and it is suppose to be 1095 steel with a convex grind. a person can't ask fer a better deal than that when somebody stands behind their product. thank you fer the video. you made me feel much better about Condor knives.

The Huron has a flat grind, not a convex. This is good. The worst grind you can have in the wilderness is a convex. It's almost impossible to sharp when you're in the field. It is high quality 1095, though it isn't 1095CV, which I prefer. It's a very good knife with very good steel, and a great shape. You won't be disappointed.

I always order mine from Baryonyx Knife Company, it's a small one man business & Benjamin hand selects the knife before it goes out to make sure you get a good knife with good fit & finish ! I also pay the extra coupe of dollars for his special upgrade...Well worth it !

all i know is that my Crotalus is one solid hunk of steel, i don't think u will have a problem with it being a 1075

It's not like 1095 is great and 1075 is coat hanger wire. They're actually very similar steels. I like 1075. In fact, I prefer it. It's tougher! I especially like that 1075 will usually roll instead of chip, bend rather than break. That means you can pein the edge back straight with a ball pein hammer against a stump or flat rock, give it a few licks with a file and off you go. I managed to bend a 1075 Condor El Salvador machete by being a complete jackass. I was able to hammer it back straight on a stump. THAT, not edge holding, is the mark of a superior survival blade; one you can stake your life on when the poop hits the fan! Harder steel will save you a few minutes of sharpening over the life of the blade. The slightly better edge holding is very nearly offset by the huge, time consuming pain in the butt that is putting a "proper" edge on "good knife steel". Hard steel is more brittle than softer steel; more likely to break. Bends can be easily fixed, breaks cannot. The sharper the edge the faster it dulls in use. The finer an edge the longer it takes to sharpen and the less useful it is when dull. In contrast, coarse edges dull slower, work better when dull, are easy to resharpen. They have all the advantages of serrated edges without the disadvantage of being tedious to sharpen. There's also the advantage of being able to scrape with them to create wood fuzz for lighting fire with flint and steel. It's simpler, faster than painstakingly whittling fine feathers. The fuzz lights easier as well. This is the difference between Bushcraft and survival. Bushcraft is going into the woods on purpose and working one's fieldcraft. You want gear that allows you to maximize your wilderness experience. You turn sharpening into a living room Zen exercise done when you get home. If your knife chips you rant on your (v/b)log and you pull out your previous favorite knife out of the box with all the others and add it to your kit until you can afford a the latest "proper blade". Survival is escaping your flaming car with a broken arm, deep lacerations, and only what you're wearing. You look back to see your get home bag burning like a like a marshmallow that fell off your stick into the fire

Im a hardcore condor customer and always will be. I carry a modified swamp romper with a razor sharp edge i mean its hair splitting sharp and its my favorite knife to date. Ive had luck i soppose everything ive ever ordered came to me perfect. Maybe im just not that picky. If i find a small defect or whatever i dont mind working to fix it i rather enjoy it actually so....yeah man condor is legit.

Thats awesome...not surprised...unlike some, Condor has real good customer service...i have had similar experiences dealing with them. Also, they pay attention to feedback and advice from the end user....thanks David...woods

Condor is an A1 company i had a wonky bushlore myself that obviously was not supposed to go to the customer. however, they sent me new knife new sheath never asked for return love Condor thanks for video

I have had good experience with Condor I like their stuff it's good serviceable equipment in my opinion not the same as some really expensive knives but for the money and service I really like their products

Totally agree. There are much higher quality knives but condor is a good rugged serviceable blade for little money.

thats a good company that does business like that, I'll tell you what just because of your video and the way they handled your problem im ordering mine tomorrow, as a business they went above and beyond the call to take care of you and thats what i want standing behind my products, good video and thanks for putting that out there otherwise i would of never known of what a good bussiness practice that they have

I have to second this video I sent a pic of damage to my primitive bush knife and chipped the tip I asked if it was safe to take on an upcoming canoe trip or if they thought there was a heat treat issue and rather than mess around they sent me a new knife so I would have it for the trip. That trip sold four more of those knives because of the customer service I received. I also had a village parang that handle appeared to be damaged on grinding wheel during sharpening again very few questions and they sent a new knife , I have several of there knifes and punish them all and these were the only problems I had which were made right immediately I highly recommend sure not best fit and finish some times but they are workers

You know, there's a lot of companies that wouldn't take the time to melt down another old cast iron skillet, break some wood off of a discarded pallet, and send you a new replacement knife. Of course most companies don't make knives out of discarded MRI machines, and stolen fence pickets, but they don't provide that great customer service either.
