I totally understand losing stuff, I spend half my day looking for something- my tea, my phone, etc. - and I just turned 65 yesterday! LOL So great that you have family close, we do not. But we just do what we can & are learning not to stress over the rest. I also have segmented sleep, but I no longer lay in bed & let anxiety take over my mind. I read devotionals, I plant vegetables, I paint (started 4 years ago), I connect as much as I can with social media (LOVE this group!) But I try not to let social media take over my life. Love, hugs, and God's blessings to you and Moosie!

Dear Nanny &Moosie, Thank you for dicussing fears of aging. You truly touched my heart with your advice. You are blessed with family close by and I envy that because it is a main concern for me. When I became ill there was no one to call for comfort or moral support. That is when my fears became real.I am stronger then I thought and all turned out .Friends are important but you cannot call them at 3am .That is why a loving family is a true blessing.

I Just have to brag about my friend Dotty. Dotty who is 79 has been fighting cancer for over 7 years. Last year she went on an African Safari, this May she has a Viking cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest. I currently living in Germany and have made arrangements to meet her at a port in Germany … I wouldn’t have her this close and not make the effort to see her. By the way before she went on the Safari told her chemo doctor I may have cancer that can’t be cured … but I’ll be darned if I’m going to die of boredom . We have been friends for over 30 years 💕

The chronic aches and pains, no driving at night, the silence in my house, the lonely meals (I'm single) the kids wanna text I wanna talk.... it's harder than raising 6 kids! I never thought about getting old, I just suddenly was 🐱 my goal for 2023 is to change the things I can... hugs to you and Moosie. 🙏

Nanny, you are delightful and wise! I’m definitely a Nanny, not a Joan.. i am 74, and my sweet hubby is 78 with some health challenges, but we enjoy our life and the simple joys! I do wish our children & grandchildren were closer because we all enjoy each other so much, but alas, our 3 sons and their families are spread out all over Texas, and our daughter & her family is in Colorado. I won’t go into my fears, and I’m generally not a worrier, but I do find myself waking up and feeling a little sad or worried a bit more these days than in past years. May God bless you and your loved ones, and continue to spread joy and encouragement to all of us! ❤

We live in Florida. Most of our friends have passed. That's depressing.Taking a trip to Daytona with our 2 friends that are flying down from Conn. To pick us up& go to Daytona at an airBNB for4&1/2 days. To the race, used to go for20+ yrs.Ought to be interesting. He almost passed5 times. He is 56. So She wants to make memories..so we will try. Great video Nanny. When my beloved husband Stephen passed away 4 yrs ago Jan.11. I cried most of the day reliving that Thursday. It’s been this way every anniversary of his passing. The 3 kids call, 3 grandsons call and my many friends call me. My kids all live in different states due to their jobs. So does my 3 grown grandsons. Anywhere from 1200 to 750 miles. I’m in Florida mainly for my health and my kids keep wanting me to move to VA, TN and GA but I’m not moving until God calls me home. We have Senior Options here and most states have this to help elderly people by coming in once a week for 3 hours to clean your house, run errands, drive you to the doctor or to purchase groceries. One you call them it takes awhile to get interviewed and meet their criteria to get this help. It’s free for seniors that have physical limitations. My back doctor told me to quit vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and bending over because my back is so bad. So if you or any of your subscribers can use this service they can check on the internet for Senior Options in the state they live. It’s been a God Send for me. Stephen did all the house work and would sit everything off the tables so I could clean them and he would put them back. We always worked as a team in the house. Also, we that have Senior Options and as we age they can spend days and nights if we have no one to help us and we want to stay in our homes. They also have the small Senior buses to take us to the mall once a week, grocery shopping and to the doctor or any important appoint . In Fl they charge $4.00 for a round trip . Up to 100 mi. These little buses are like the gecko’s native to Florida, they are everywhere on every highway. Keeping my mind busy, making jewelry, reading my bible and just reading in general and watching your videos along with talking on my phone. FaceTime helps with my kids and grandkids since I can see them when we talk. I have a few friends and we go out to eat twice a month. My faith in God and knowing I have help when needed as I age gives me peace. It’s not easy and whomever called aging the golden years, there’s nothing golden except urine. It’s difficult when you’re walking fine and all of a sudden a knee bucks and you almost fall. Or you bend over to plant a flower bulb and your head hits the flower bed. Yes, it happened to me last week. I laughed afterwards because it was funny . I luckily was still on my feet but butt up in the air and no one saw me. I went to the shed and got my bulb planter. I have a daily goal of doing 10 things every day. In the house or in the yard. My house in on a knoll and it is difficult to walk in sand covered with sod. I think that’s why when I bent over to plant the flower bulb I couldn’t stop. I plan to plant 10 bulbs a day until I get all planted . About 200 or more. Setting goals makes me feel I’ve accomplished something daily. I’ve noticed my coping skills are getting weaker as I age. I know part is because of back pain and Addison’s Disease, but I’m like the little Steam engine train, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can and after I accomplish my deed I’ll say, I thought I could, I thought I could, I thought I could! I did it! This nursery rhyme from childhood has been my go to when I had struggles. I’ll merrily sing this until I’m finished . If anyone heard me they would think “ she’s lost it!” Especially if I added the choo- choo -puff -puff shug shug. I tell people that don’t remember the Steam Engine that could that’s what I am .,, the Steam engine that had a hard pull but made it over the hill with my load , not cars but a load that took a lot of effort. On this note, I’m going to choo -choo puff -puff along to bed . Please tell Moose hello. From Ocala, Florida and you to are the Little Stem Engine that could! Optimism and determination can move mountains a shovel at a time .

Such good sound advice. I live alone and got locked out in a very bad storm last week when I took my dog out. I put him in, and I got locked out in rain and very high winds. I located my garage door opener but the power was out. Sheer panic. When the lights flickered on after about 10 harrowing minutes I hit the opener and at least I got into the garage. I usually lock the door into the house but it was unlocked so I got in. I told my dog it’s a miracle we survive some days! Nanny, I am going to scold you: wear your glasses necklace! Does Moosie have a therapy person coming in to do seated exercises to keep his muscles strong? It helps immensely! It could keep him from getting bedridden. You’re a light in our world and I pray your worry is released so you can just enjoy each day we’re lucky enough to have. And yes, wear your mask and use disinfectant. I intend to watch this video many times again as it makes me realize that these feelings of loneliness and frustration are quite normal. I’m trying desperately to get back into some form of participating in socializing and just generally having something to look forward to, but it just seems like a monumental struggle sometimes. Thanks so much for addressing so many of these issues Nanny.😘🤗

Thanks you for that talk. I am 70 will be 71 this year . I still live alone not married by choice . I do have 2 gown sons who do live in the same town . Between you & me ...this is the only reason I live in this town ...my sons are both here . But I do worry about possible decline in my health . Last year I found breast Cancer during a routine mammogram ( I get a mammogram every year) so I had a lumpectomy & 20 days of radiation. This year the mammogram was clear ...Thank God !!

I REALLY needed this..thank you. I have a lifetime severe abuse behind me... that is making me feel like I wasted my whole life on maggots. I was the family scapegoat AND caretaker from early childhood.. FULLTIME from 14... The beating degrading "mother" was totally incompetent... I became super organized and good at everything ... The maggots and the good ones ( my oldest brother and my father) started to live really well when I took over everything. But "mother" was ho..ing with my father's best friend...( THANK GOD WE DID NOT KNOW FOR YEARS) Her abuse and psycho behavior was inexplicable... youngest sister went on narcotics to cope ( from a doctor) ended up in a mental hospital "mother" separated, got alimony, got a good job.. DID NOT HELP MY FATHER WITH SISTER'S ILLNESS.. SHE FORCED THE SALE OF OUR HOUSE.. catastrophe for decades.. dropped out of college got a better paying job.. lived with OTHER sister who started abusing me...( transferring anger at bio mother to "the good mother") Long story short.. I STILL did everything.. Horrible life, theft by siblings, several natural disasters... I am drained...and worried about the impoverished future I still am facing... I look for hope online.. You inspired my...and assured me most people worry from time to time about the future..

Nanny, I just don't have ahny joy. I'm almost 75 and have a lot going on mentally, I have a horrible, horrible time with depression anxiety and agorophobia! I've seen many professionals and gone through many treatments and nothing changes. I feel so sad because I know these are my best years that I have left. I just don't know what to do. My family isn't very close, even though we all live close My sister is the only one of the five of us that lives away, about four hours. My three brothers and my two sons and a granddaughter and her family all within twenty miles. It's my fault for the social distance between us. I say my fault, because of my mental health, which I can't change. You are so inspiring. If only I could change my mind set, as you do. I'm at my wit's end. I so enjoy your channel and I am so thankful that I found it! I, always, listen to you and don't want it to end. Thank you for sharing so much. I pray that this is the year I am released from this prison that I'm in, caused by depression. There just isn't any pat answers to mental illness, as with other illnesses! I'll keep fighting,. I won't be a statistic! Please keep me in your prayers 🙏. I love you and appreciate you and moose! Until next time! ❤️😘

I always went and go to Mother Nature for healing, day or night...snowing or clear. Also positive and upbeat music...explore. Music soothes and heals animals too! Reading good books, they take you out of your mind set and takes you to another world. Go to a nice book store that's comfortable and spend the day there reading in a comfy chair, exploring. The one I go to let's you sit and read there books in a lounge area all day, and they have a cafe too.

☘️ your aging advice was just what I needed to hear, thank you Nanny. I have a partner who is a serial hoarder and his area of our family room is crazy untidy. I always tell people to get up and walk even in your home. Bad knees like my husband and myself, I keep going because if you don't, it will get much harder to get around. My mother in-law stopped and never walked again before she died 5 years later. I'm 61 and I think about later in life what will happen to my family. I try not to worry much and focus on living now. Your makeup looks beautiful, that pink looks good, though I think

You are right. Aging isn't for the faint of heart. After my husband passed I lived alone, except for my aging chihuahua Sammy for nine years. It was isolating and a bit lonely sometimes. A local agency looked after my yard for me so that was nice. Sammy was nearing 18 when I had to let him go and boy did I weep, for months, every day so I sold and moved into an assisted living situation just so I could be around people. I can cook or I can go down to the dining room to eat. Nice to have that choice. The people are pleasant, the food not so much but I guess I am spoiled. Anyway I'm glad to be where I am. Like you, I am as busy as I need or want to be, no more. I have a few friends and we visit every few weeks, go out, do lunch. I walk a bit most days. I miss traveling so I google map places we visited, put it on street view and walk down memory lane. I can't complain. My faith, my prayers and my countenance sustain me hopefully for a long time to come. Thank you so much for your thoughts and openness.

Moosie, you got some ‘splainin’ to do about that coffee cup! 😂 I’m definitely a Nanny rather than a Joan. I would like to be more organized, but that’s just not me. Have you ever tried putting on sound therapy crystal singing bowls for sleep/stress/anxiety? Maybe a sleep mask with integrated Bluetooth earbuds could help with the wandering mind during the night. Chamomile tea and/or dreamland CBD might help. I have been drinking some Pure Sleep warm milk and it really does help with deeper sleep. I know the struggle and it is no fun!

I talk to you. Can you hear me😁 I thought you were going to vacuum and I left to do a couple chores. Look, I'm 62 and have major health challenges. I'm blessed to have my wonderful husband, children and grandchildren in my life. I do crafts and I try to cook good food. My husband had a rare cancer in 2019. God saw him through it and he's almost 4 years cancer free! My husband and I talk about the things like what ifs but we just live. We play games and take walks when we can. During COVID we took long rides in the country when we got stir crazy. I think we have to trust the Lord and pray. He gives us joy when we're feeling low. Thank you for showing me what we can do as we get older. Much 💕💕💕 After watching your video I decided to try a collagen supplement. My husband says he thinks my face is plumper. I love your videos💞💞💞💞

First thoughts on the video today... Nanny, you look so bright and beautiful today. The light blue denim is a lovely color on you. I'm only 56 but my parents are turning 80 this year and it's only in the last few years that it has struck me how lucky I am that they are still able to get around and take care of themselves and each other. Although they don't travel a lot, they are busy with community activities, dancing, gardening and various hobbies. Although my mom has had some health issues the past 15 years.. breast cancer and now Parkinsons.. she says she's not going to let it stop her from living her best life. She's definitely not the type to lie down and give up. I believe having a positive attitude is extremely important. Thank you for the talk today...you have no idea how much inspiration, joy and laughter you bring to my day. ❤

I have watched you for a while but I don’t think I ever commented before but you were an awesome inspiration today. You are so blessed to have lots of kids, grandkids and great grandkids. I am early 70’s and I am not as blessed. 20 years ago I lost My older son. In last six years I lost my middle son, a teen age grandson, 27 year old granddaughter and three best friends from childhood. My first and second husbands are in heaven too. I feel depressed some of the time. I loved your inspirational message today. You made me think…..I still have my wonderful youngest son and daughter in law, two grandsons and a granddaughter. And two young great grandsons. I am blessed to have them. I have my wonderful 3rd husband. We will celebrate 31 years next month. Thank you for your beautiful videos. God bless. ❤ you are so beautiful and look younger then your years. Again thank you and Moosy for brightening my day. ❤️😊

God bless you Nannie. I so needed this talk this morning. I am care giver to my husband right now who is having major heart issues and we take care of our adult son , Dane. And someone has to be with him at all times. He got sick in 2015. My husband had a major heart attack in 2016. He has damage from that heart attack . And at 63, I worry the same worries you talked about. Our lives have drastically changed since all of these things happened. And yes our world has shrunk . I do miss traveling with my husband. But I'm learning to enjoy home more as we go along. My telephone is my social connection. And we are blessed to live near siblings who will call or visit from time to time. I know God will provide as we get near time for more help with our son but I just cant get my head wrapped around what that will be for him. Many hugs sweet lady.
