I realize it's been two years, but this kind of thing is evergreen. I'm so thankful you posted it, I'm going to try this out and see how my bunny reacts. Thanks for your time and succinct presentation. Wishing you and yours well!

Thank you for this video. How frequent do we have to clean their backends to get rid of bad urine stain/scalding? Will twice a day of wet wiping be too stressful for the bunny?

Hi! So sorry we didn't get an alert for this and only just noticed this comment! You're right, twice a day might be too stressful! Perhaps once every other day would be better, and applying the coconut twice a day would be good so the fur grows back quickly. You might like to look at adding mats and pee pads or getting larger toilets to see if these help reduce the frequency of urine burn =)

I’ve had many rabbits but the current one was surrendered to me. She has the strangest knock-knees, that give her a splayed look when she’s eating. She’s got very matted fur on her bottom. I have no idea how to fix it without immersing her bottom. It looks like it will take an hour’s soak to loosen the matted mess. I can tell where can cut and where I can’t. Can I use vegetable glycerin? The ACV seems abrasive.

I've not tried vegetable glycerin before, so I'm not too sure about that. I had a rescue bunny once who also came with bad urine burn and lots of matted fur. When I brought her to the vet, they shaved off the fur so it'll be easier to manage her urine burn and allow her to recover faster! That's a possible option for you. She will need a soothing balm applied on her bum every day. I make a home made one with calendula, beeswax and organic coconut oil. The coconut oil and calendula encourage fur regrowth and the balm helps ensure the area doesn't get too dry or irritated

is rice vinegar ok?
@thetinylifebyfeedmypaws2222 Жыл бұрын
Rice vinegar can be used, but it won't have the same effect of mite prevention as apple cider vinegar 😀

Is it ok if we don't use apple cider vinegar??

Yes it's okay, you can use regular white vinegar 😊 apple cider vinegar has the added advantage of mite prevention
