Woow I thought the spear was very difficult to counter because I had to read whether it's a stab stab or a slash stab. I didn't know I could counter both with stab, thank you so much for this!

Honestly this is the exact reason I am watching this. I've tried countering the slash stab with a slash so many times and I knew I was timing it perfectly 😢

i was wondering about telling the difference between a slash and a stab, but that's nice that I don't have to think that hard. Now I just have to figure out what to do when they've got 4 other friends

Honestly, i find dodging a spear a bit easier than countering mostly cause i can never get the timing of a counter down.

Yeah, that's totally an option. As I showed with rabbit, a good player can just sidestep all of the attacks if he's close enough and the spear user does not footwork away properly. I'm very skilled, and it was even tough for me! The turn cap is just that strict. Also, I love your profile picture!

ik its an old video, but you mention that the spear is the "longest" weapon in the game, while I'm not sure if this is true or not, I can tell you that the weapon with the most RANGE is in fact, the halberd.

if u don't come in at a straight line its pretty doable to get in range. in 1 v x its very hard to not let anybody come close, you need to be really aware of your positioning and need good foodwork. but even dashing wont help staying out of range. The big downside of the spear is at closer ranges, where u basically have 0 attacks u can land. the spear is good in specific situations ( choke points and as support for the front line [just behind it]) and really one of the worst in other situations (1 v X, close ranges). its ot a very good allround weapon.

I imagined that, didn’t now about to counter it was stab, I think the mechanic was the same like slash bottom for spear the slash bottom of the sword and can’t test this against them hahaha. Can you counter the overhead with full damage clicked? Thanks

No, they can still counter you by using a slash counter. The Counter mechanic still functions exactly the same for them.

I truly believe that it is the best weapon in the game, but that doesn't mean it isn't without its vulnerabilities.

Great for team fights and and TO but you'll get railed in duels against anyone with half a brain

@@bluelax99able of course, but it's best to remember that the game is balanced around team objective. That's why when I rate weapons, I based my rating off of how effective they are in TO. Maybe one day I'll have separate duel specific ratings, but if I had to choose the best duel weapon it would probably be the Messer.
