Not sure if any of you women have had covid-19. But one of the side effects is excessive shedding. It's called telogen effluvium. Many of my clients have had this issue and most of the breakage has taken place in the top areas of their head. And we always know our hair better than anyone. You are right.
@RikaStinka2 жыл бұрын
Don’t cut your hair! 😭 Its not alopecia, it’s fungal/bacterial and ur right its also probably triggered by sulfates. I had that same big flaky dandruff for years (even when my hair was “clean”) till I switched to sulfate free. I realized it when I used a sulfate shampoo and it came back immediately. If you have a trader joes in your area their “tea tree tingle” line will get all scalp issues outta here QUICK! Works every time. It disinfects the scalp/kills any fungus and also nourishes & stimulates growth at the same time. If not the giovanni tea tree line is very similar and I think TJ’s version is made by their factory. When you condition, put the tea tree conditioner on your scalp and your castor one on the ends & make sure u let it sit! Basically, use it as a “scalp treatment” once a week. [Vatika oil (amazon or indian grocery store) as a pre hot oil or overnight treatment is also a banger] The scalp is skin which is an organ, AND an extension of your face. We only focus on how products affect our hair and neglect the scalp it grows out of. Using products w chemicals, fragrance even preservatives etc can make the hair nice but have a negative effect on the scalp! Hth’s, your hair still looks good tho 😹 lol

I went through a similar situation where I was suffering from a scalp/fungal infection on the top of my head. And I actually caught the infection from a braider I was going to in the past. I don’t think she was cleaning her combs properly. I tried using all different types of oils and nothing was working so I went to a dermatologist and he told me I had seborrheic dermatitis and gave me some shampoo that’ll help cure it and it did not work either. I dealt with the issue for 2 years straight and after doing extensive research I was finally able to cure my scalp by using Monistat 7 day and got rid of the infection in 6 months. Then I had to use Nutrafol hair supplements to grow my hair back and get my scalp healthy again.

def go to the dermatologist. I has crazy dandruff that wasn't responding to anything except Sachajuan scalp shampoo. Scalp scrubs, sulfur 8 and all the rest didnt work because the next day the flakes were back and large as ever. Even the Sachajuan shampoo relief only lasted three-four days before the flakes came back. Turns out it was seborrheic dermatitis. This happened after I caught C19, along with other issues.

I use to have bad dandruff when I was little. My mother took me to the doctor for it. He suggested Sulfur 8. You have to grease your scalp with it once a week. Anyway she used it on me for about a year. And it worked. It takes time but it's worth it. The thing is it medicated so it has a smell. Good Luck Jenise.

I'm late to the party as I just found your channel. I have learned that protective styles are not at all protective. I literally lost nearly all my edges and the nape area of my hair due to using gels to slick back my hair then tying it up with a scarf to keep it sleek. That blocked my follicles and caused severe shedding and breakage around my edges and nape. The first thing I did was throw out all edge controls and gels. They all block the follicles. I also bought the Nizoral shampoo and started to keep my scalp clean and free of product. That stopped the shedding and breakage immediately. Now, months later my hair is recovering. Anyway, your hair is really beautiful and it's good you caught this problem early. Mine was masked by the curly styles I was wearing and how full it looked while curly. It was when I straightened it that I realized just how much hair I had lost. I do use rosemary and tea tree oils (in carrier oils) as a pre-poo/hot oil treatment and that has also worked well. I do not think sulfates are your issue with the dandruff or the thinning. It's probably an oily scalp because I have the same thing. The sulfate free thing can be a gimmick. But if you plan to go sulfate free invest in a good detox/clarifying shampoo. Best wishes to you.

Your hair still looks gorgeous☺️ I have androgenic alopecia and it started thinning at my edges and in the middle of my of the front of my scalp. My part has gotten wider. I am under a dermatologist care. I don’t think you have alopecia, but I would suggest seeing a dermatologist for your concerns. I get steroid injections for my thinning. I waited for years to go to the doctor. I hope your hair health improves. Don’t cut your hair. I also use rosemary essential oil and cedar wood oil as well as clove water. My hair is no longer shedding but by hairline is slow to thicken up. Thank you for sharing your experience, a lot of women deal with thinning hair and it’s extremely frustrating.

Hey love, if it's possible it maybe time to take a break from the low buns, quickweaves and heat. Someone below mentioned tea tree shampoo and conditioner. It's amazing. Try to use less tension on your hair and switch up your parts, which can cause thinning. Vitamin Deficiencies can cause these issues as well. Try a protective style for the rest of the year. You'll see results. Oh yeah...scalp massages with an essential oil with black castor oil. I hope this helps. 🙏

We have similar hair textures. Reasons why I watch you. My hairstylist used to do scalp treatments on me during cooler months because I’d have so much dandruff at the top of my head near my hairline and was so confused. Mine gets bad during certain seasons but I definitely struggle with the flakes. Our hair is more on the finer side so I don’t use many oils. The only shampoo and conditioner I’ve used consistently is from Function of Beauty and the ingredients they use are really amazing on my hair. I know you did a video sponsored by them which made me try it and It helps with my dandruff surprisingly too.
