As a hairstylist for the last 20 years, thank you for putting out this video! All your advice is sound and so good for all hair types. I will add that if you have very fun, very thin hair, you’re not necessarily doing something wrong, genetics do play a major role, but if you follow this advice, your hair can be it’s best version. @user-nn7jz7xg7q yes you can definitely improve the quality of your hair following the advice in this video. You may also want to watch haircare videos from a youtuber called Katherine Sewing who has category 3-4 hair which is prone to being very dry and frizzy. She fixed her damaged hair and it's extremely beautiful and long now. Your hair texture changes a little over time with hormones too, so if your hair is going grey then the texture will be slightly different from how it used to be, but you can still improve it a lot following a more natural and nourishing routine.

I love your approach and you’ve reminded me why natural beauty is so truthful and fulfilling! I for years have left my hair untouched, almost no cutting, no color. The allure of the stylish women or women of other eras is enticing, but allowing and accepting what God has given us, and really maintaining it with the upmost care is going to make us feel more relaxed and much more beautiful and it allows the inner beauty to show more I believe! Keep up the good work encouraging women to take care of their bodies hair and souls and bringing this light to all in the process!

Wow, just wanted to comment I watched this one year ago and all of this stuff really works! I have tried to grow my hair waist length long for years and it always took forever and even when it would get there it would just be frizzy and thin at the ends, so I would cut it and try to start again. I've had such rollercoaster journey with my hair, I used to have type 2C/3A, and very dry hair, I always had split ends, and if I didn't use deep conditioner, or leave-in conditioner, my hair would feel like hay, so I started using a products for curly, dry and damaged hair, I tried a whole bunch of different products, and after years of that, now my hair is super thin and breaky, I get an oily scalp within a day, my curls/waves are completely gone, and it actually got to a point I had to chop my hair off use of how damaged it got from all of the drugstore products, but thanks to you, I am now starting my natural hair care journey and hopefully my hair will find its strength, volume and curls once again!

I have the same type of hair as you and I actually use L’Oréal hair line from the drugstore. It’s not specific to curly hair but my hair and curls has never been better. I also use redken curl leave in conditioner and I make sure to clarify my hair every so often with a good clarifying shampoo to remove build up and minerals from hard water. Hard water can also cause you to lose your curls and hair loss, so I put a water softener in my shower too. I have noticed that alot of people say that curly girl products from the drugstore that are supposedly natural caused their hair to worsen and their curls ruined. Sometimes the thick butters and oils can be damaging and cause so much build up and dryness. I barely even use thick deep conditioners now and my hair is not even that dry. I used to use a lot of the curl drugstore lines too and my hair was greasy and weighed down and not moisturized. I think other ppl have experienced the same thing. Think about switching to a non curl product from a tried and true brand like L’Oréal or dove, and using a clarifying shampoo, it may help a lot!

Love this video. I wish more people had this information. You did a beautiful job explaining. Diet is so important! We also eat a more ancestral nourishing tradition diet. I do the castile soap for me and my 3 girls and the ACV rinse and then each of the girls get to pick their essential oil after the hair is air dried...usually honeysuckle, lavender, or another floral scent. This is also very cost effective we all have very long hair so buying any type of premade shampoo and conditioner could get rather expensive. Natural products are much more effective and you need much less. I love that you gave knowledge of all hair types not just yours. Your a so very gracious with your words. Our bodies are a temple and a very precious gift. Thanks for the beautiful video.

Hi Lea, this video makes me happy for what is to come. I have been working a job for the last seven years. My husband has been asking me to quit for years. God got a hold of my heart on this matter and clearly showed me I was disobeying (praise God!). My husband made the final decision to call me home (he said he’s never wanted his wife to work and he didn’t take a wife to make her work) and my last week of work is next week. My husband wants me to spend the first many months on my self and spiritual care. I have been wanting to adopt a natural hair care routine for a long time and I was always exhausted coming home from work so I didn’t have the energy to try something new. I’m really excited to try this routine after my job ends next week. I agree with what you said about us needing to get back to a more natural, God created, historical way of eating and living. We are a very sick people group because of all of the toxins.

The women that people consider to be the very most Christian - nuns - actually have most of their heads shaved! Just the little front of their hair that peeks out of the head cover is allowed to be longer. This is to avoid vanity, so I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that your shaved head could be considered just as Christian. Personally, my desire to transition into more natural lifestyle comes as a way to get away from much of what religion taught me. Crazy how different journeys can get you to the same destination!

This is the first time i have seen anyone in the same boat as me! About 5 years ago, i had ribcage length hair that i had seriously put through the wringer with frequent hair dye, harsh chemicals, and heat tools. It was looking really bad, and i had only just realized it after coming out of a depression funk when my two babies were small. Anyways, i decided to shave the back and sides of my head and chopped the rest to chin length...after a year or two of that style, i simply shaved my head bald. I was exhuasted and couldnt keep up with any self care at the time. Dark place! Well, my hair has been growing out since then, about 4 or 4 1/2 years, and its nearly waist length! My husband os happy to have my long hair back and im learning to appreciate my hair, and care for it naturally. It used to be a type of art for for me, but ive realized that God already created art with my natural hair just the way He made it. Also in recent years, with the LBGTQXYZ nonsense going on and getting more prevalent, i dont want to be lumped into a certain group of people...like it or not, people make assumptions about everyone they see at even a first glance. One day i was at walmart looking for a vitamin, and this maybe 16 or 17 yo kid comes up to me and says "hey, you look pretty chill, will you buy me some cigs?" 🫣 as a conservative bible-believeing and church-going middle aged mom of two, that was like a slap in the face wake up call! I want to glorify my Creator in all things, including my appearence and how i carry myself. And so i made some decisions and have changed how i dress, my hair, wesr no make up anymore, which my skin is happy about and getting ready to go anywhere is so much better. Sorry, that was a long comment. I was just excited to find someone out there with similar convictions as me!

Just a note on the formaldehyde that I found super interesting. I am taking the Master Herbalist Course from School of Natural Healing- in one of the radio show videos that they had us listen to David Christopher talked about how a Mortician was talking about how they have to use less formaldehyde now then when he began his career 40+ years earlier (this was recorded in the early 2000s) and he was contributing it to the amount of formaldehyde in all the stuff people use and take. I just found that really interesting and sad. Anyways- thanks for the video, one of my goals this year is to completely adapt a natural hair care routine. I already go 7 days between washings but I have a lot of scalp issues and had to transition back to using a shampoo and conditioner (as natural as I could get) but now I realize I was skipping all the oils- I was just washing was castile soap and rinsing with AVC- Im going to add in all the oils and hopefully that will help with the scalp issues. Anyways blessings and Shalom to you!

This video was so great! I prayed to God to teach me and guide me on what to eat and how to take care of my hair. Thank you, Lea. I believe this was the Holy Spirit. ❤God bless you.🤗

Thank you for emphasizing the nutritional aspects of hair care. I couldn’t agree more that what’s happening inside is the most important thing. It’s great to hear people talking about that.

I researched a lot about Madam C.J. Walker and she was one of the first African-American women to create natural, hair-care products for Black women with curly, thick or hard to manage hair. I suggest looking into her products. Thanks for sharing, I love your videos

Glad I caught this! Since I’ve been in the mountains of TN I’ve stopped using public water. We collect rain water and use sediment filters on our shower. I have very long thick wavy hair and used to wash every 3 days plus using ALOT of conditioner! I’ve cut out the conditioner, and use a seaweed and essential oil natural shampoo. If I need any oil treatment I use a organic Greek oil blend and just comb a tiny bit into mid shaft and to my tips. I now only wash my hair every 3-4 weeks. I find that if I have to use public water my hair will need washing sooner! Crazy isn’t it! I try to sleep in a braid as often as possible and sleep on a satin pillowcase which helps immensely with any tangles.

Thank you so much for being an encouraging teacher, as well as a minister to the feminine soul. I get frustrated and disappointed with my hair and resort back to commercial haircare but you gave me fresh appreciation and love for my hair and health to try again. Not only for my sake, but for my daughter's. Blessings in the LORD!❤

Frankincense has been used widely in arabian culture for health and wellbeing benefits including hair and skin. In arabic its called “lobaan”. Thanks for this in depth video, i have almost knee length hair and the past few years its gotten so thin due to stress and neglect. You’ve definitely encouraged me to get back into taking care of my hair and using better cleaner products. 💓

Reminds me of a Middle Eastern woman I saw at a grocery store growing up. She had a very thick braid that reached her ankles. As a little girl, I was simply FASCINATED by it.

I am so happy you put this video out! I'm also on the journey and have the same hair type as you. Normally I do no-poo method using chickpea flour, but in the winter my hair has been so dry and literally breaking off recently. I'm learning more about hard water and thinking this might be the problem, since we moved somewhat recently and have never had the problem before. I love the oil prewash routine you do, and I am going to be trying it. I feel like it really will make a good difference. Thank you so much!

Love this video lea, I know I always say this but you look so beautiful. My hair is in the 4 range, I have recently started using rhassoul clay instead of my organic shampoo and so far I am loving it. My hair it just passed my waist but because its curly it shrinks so you would never know. By the way I am sure I have told you before but I could watch you all day xo

Alaffia is a really cleansing and GENTLE brand that is basically the same as castille somehow it doesnt damage my hair though. Alaffia is excellent AND costs the same as pantene. around 30-50 cents an ounce! ALSO My 32 oz bottle of alaffia lasted almost 6 months!!! I have a bob though and I cleanse my hair twice in the shower but only wash every 3rd day. So wash one day unwashed for two days then wash again. I also started oiling my hair too and my hair is exceptionally healthy it's never been this healthy.

@6:20 Yassss honey this 4c lady appreciates her so much especially when it comes to how often we should wash. Some will think it gross to go 4 weeks without washing but not necessarily given how our hair is generally worn protectively. Also she may not be aware of how much time it takes on wash day when it comes to deep conditioning pre poo detangling and styling for us but it can take upwards of 4-6 hours without breaks 😫😫😫 so it really it is an all day commitment sometimes 2 days depending on breaks style length and drying etc ….issa lot 🙏🏿

Thank you so much, this is encouraging me. I changed about two years ago first to natural shampoos and today I use my homemade bars in wich are only good ingredients and only a few of them. Same for conditioner and sometimes oils, how I learnt it from my mother and her grandpa. My hair is very thin but fortunately quiet a lot of. Now I try to have it long again like when I was young. It will take time. And I try to eat healthy and wholegrain and organic as often as possible. Makes me feel good and balanced. Sometimes I like wearing headcovers. I love your beautiful long, shiny and wavey hair, your modest cloth and your path with the lord.

Thank you. I am planning to incorporate some of your wide and wonderful suggestions. I have type 1b hair. Lately I’ve noticed substantial fall out and thinning and would appreciate a video on how to stimulate growth. I have decided to stop colouring and am taking biotin and collagen rich broth or powder. Several times a day I spritz with a diy mix of colloidal silver which I make, rosemary and peppermint essential oils.

Your advice is sound! I also love a super clean brand called 100% Pure or any brand of simple, natural olive oil soap bar (a/k/a nablusi soap, an ancient, healing, traditional, very cleansing, cost-effective soap that does not hurt the hair or scalp at all)!

The reason for my comment is that I lost almost all my long hair. I have fine hair to begin with but it was so thin you can see through it. I now have patches of inch long hairs coming in!! Praise Abba for His mercy. Thank you for sharing your hair care routine. I have been looking for gentler products, thank you for sharing!! May Abba God bless you🙏🙏❤

Sending love and prayers to you. My friend got covid and lost a lot of hair too. She grew it back using onion shampoo! It really works. You could also try an onion rinse or using onion juice as a pre-poo if you can't find onion shampoo.

This was so helpful! I’m transitioning into more holistic products (cleaning, beauty, and body care) and although Im much improved, it still is very much a process. I have quite curly hair but can’t go very long without washing otherwise I have lots of fallout. I suspect it may be due to the creams and mousses I use on it so Im just trying to use them up and then invest in more natural products to see if that makes a difference. It’s kind of fun to see what works and try new things out! Most of the time, Ive found the simpler, the more effective.

I use Aloe Vera gel as a “gel” or mouse to fix my hair. It works great . Holds my style all day. No hair spray. If I’m braiding or platting my hair ,I dampen my hair first then apply the Aloe Vera gel . I do the same if I’m curling my hair with heatless cloth . Love how soft my hair is after I take it down. It also leaves no white flakes like harsh chemicals do.

I too have been on a journey to healthier hair. My mom would never let me have long hair because it was so curly she couldn’t do anything with it. Great video. Nourishing the inside is of great imp. You have a great routine but I need very simple Simon routine at 61 yrs. I have short, straight hair with little body. In the summer it wilts to no style so I keep it cut on a Bob style. I used to always use baking soda as a wash and ACV as a rinse. It worked great and my hair was so manageable. Somehow I have fallen away from it and use natural shampoos or a 'clean' 🤭 goat milk soap recipe and use that every other day. I wash daily as my hair would be flat and no body. I am hoping to get back into a better natural routine. At my age I wont let it grow because it would look stringy and flat and age me more. Your hair is beautiful!
