You might change your mind when you see the price for this little bottle though. It’s just absurdly expensive. I don’t mind paying $42 for many things, but 8 ounces of shampoo ain’t one of them. If price is a deal breaker for any of you, I highly recommend you try apple cider vinegar mixed 1:1 ratio with water, and also aloe vera directly cut and squeezed from the plant does wonders for a unbalanced scalp. And all of it is waaaayyy cheaper than this shampoo and you get tons of uses out of it. I love Briogeo but they lost me at this price for such small amount of product.

My boyfriend and I both had seborrheic dermatitis. This channel combined with Dr. Dre has been a life saver. His was more severe than mine so he went to a Derm and they said we're doing exactly what we need to be doing. - no more air drying/going to bed with wet hair/leaving wet hair up in a bun. Diffusing my hair or at least my scalp has been a huge help. - no more olive oil in the hair. Olive oil feeds the fungus that naturally lives on our head 😳 - we use TGEL (by Neutrogena) and leave it on for a few minutes. He uses CeraVe salicylic acid moisturizer because the SD was all over his face, ears, and beard. - staying consistent! It can always come back. Good luck to everyone and thank you Mel for all this information. Seborrheic dermatitis is something a lot of people suffer from and don't even know it.❤️

Yes!! This is the content I’ve wanted forever. So many curlies have seborrheic dermatitis, and many heavy products make us worse! I would love a series on scalp conditions and curly products. I found a shampoo and conditioner called Jupiter that helps my scalp without hurting my hair, but I still struggle with styling products.

I've never been to a dermatologist so I've never used anything other than over-the-counter treatments for dandruff. My scalp becomes very itchy, scaley and flakey after just a few days, but it's rarely super red or irritated. My skin in general has been incredibly dry since last winter. I will need to see a doctor to tell me if I have scalp psoriasis (I don't think it's that severe - hopefully), but using a silicone scalp brush and multiple shampoos has helped immensely. I am guilty of not washing my hair frequently and leaving my hair wet, as my hair is super fine, frizzy and curly. Since watching your channel I have learned to use a diffuser and stop air drying, as well as using hot oil treatments now in the winter. I see an immediate change, and my curls are very defined and soft 🤩 you rock, Mel!
@Elven.2 жыл бұрын
Drying my hair is one thing I learned from your videos that I so thankful for and it keeps itchiness under control. I also bought salicylic acid at the drugstore before and that helped immensely. However, drying my hair was the cherry on top
@MsKassandraKotaku2 жыл бұрын
Reason number 6 and why I had it for years: I was allergic to a common ingredient in shampoos and some conditioners). I stopped using all shampoos with derivatives of that ingredient (only one that I can find is what I can use) and all conditioners with it. Not a single dandruff or dry scalp in sight for years now. I only realized what had happened after I got a conditioner with it as one of the main ingredients and got so ill (not related to my skin) I was on high dose medicines and lost an inch of hair with what the gp said was "contact dermatitis." Allergens should be considered if you are having a problem as well. It may not be the reason, but it could be especially if you are having other symptoms.
@Manxita2 жыл бұрын
Which was the ingredient, if you don't mind me asking?
@Dre-in-PA2 жыл бұрын
Can't speak for the original poster but Limonene and Linalool, are two fragrances in almost every single hair care product, that give me the itches. Go figure why you have to pay more for a product without them... If you can find it. I just discovered The Ordinary has hair care without them.
@Ria.ray772572 жыл бұрын
Could you tell me what the ingredient was, please? this could potentially be why I have a very flaky scalp
@sharkitty2 жыл бұрын
I had a client that was allergic to his shampoo!! If you're reading this and wondering if you are, you will be most reactive after you wash your hair. You may notice your scalp is tight/itchy after a shower, and then when it's dry it calms down, but your scalp may be irritated/red and flakey. It's worth it to take a break from that specific shampoo for a few weeks to see if that's the culprit.

“Sometimes, I just, I know how you must be feeling.” Every fellow over-talker “ that went by way too fast!” There are just so many words & so many bouncing around in my brain. Do people expect me to be brief and quiet?!?!? Not in my skill set. Whoever said silence is golden is not an over talker, but they’re probably related to one. These really are great tips. My scalp & hair has always been more on the oily side. I noticed since a was saved, by you, from the hair care depths of daily washing, it’s more balanced. If you told me a year ago I could go 4 of 5 days without washing & it still looked good, I never would’ve believed you. You saved my scalp & my hair.

I love to use Bounce Curl's detox mask whenever my scalp is getting extra itchy! I rub it all into my scalp before getting in the shower, with dry hair, wait 5 minutes, get in the shower, then wet my hair without rinsing the mask off my scalp, then ally a 50/50 mixture of the detox mask & their gentle clarifying shampoo to finish scrubbing my scalp and gently run my hands over my hair with the mixture. It gets rid of hard water buildup too. Then I use curl Smith a hydro creme soothing mask directly on my scalp, just a tiny bit on my fingertips and massage it in, then use whatever deep conditioner or mask for the lengths of my hair, and just make sure to rinse really thoroughly. It makes me y scalp feel fantastic - super clean but not dry.🤗 NYM curl talk scalp cleansing oil is also fantastic! (The only product from them that I like) It has peppermint oil & white clay in it along with super food oils.
