Dealing with Unidentified Driving Time

Unassigned driving time happens when there is no one logged into the device but it is still capturing drive time. Odometer jumps happen typically when the device has been unplugged and then when it is plugged in again, the system recognizes there has been a jump in miles without any associated drive time. Both are problematic.

Great video, does anything negative happens when you reject unidentified logs? I was told to reject them but did not know why?

When you reject them, they get put back on the carrier’s unidentified driving report. That report can cause problems in an audit if the carrier isn’t rectifying all of the unassigned time. Also, if drivers reject time that is truly theirs, it could be considered log falsification.

@@Trucksafe Wow, that's interesting So DOT, can still have me a violation or out of service for rejecting unidentified trips? Does the unidentified trips even without a load, does it affect your drive time?
