I did the Dragon over twenty times mostly on Sport bikes but I had the most fun doing it on my Wings over the years. Third gear all the way except long straights. She’s so well balanced and smooth and geared rite for this 👌😎

Man, talk about a precise rider. I've riden with this gentleman before and many others but, none compares to him. I must admit, he is an awesome trainer as well. Very attentive to his surroundings whenever he's riding. I'm wondering if I'll ever get to that level of riding. However, it's a slow process for me but, I'm getting there with his and many others helping. Yep, still in the receiving mode and yet, like him, willing to share the gifting and knowledge of riding safe on the highways and in around those gas pumpsand Sonic signs. Just fun, fun, fun. Be safe out there guys.

Great video, I've been on the Dragon twice...years before I had my wing. Once on a Kawasaki ZX-9R, and the other time a Suzuki GSXR-1000. A very fun and challenging road indeed, once I return to the states with the Wing it will be nice to head that way for another run in my old and wiser age LOL. Thanks for sharing the video.

Great video man. I have a 2004 Goldwing and did the dragon in 2011 with a buddy of mine. If you ever get in the Virginia Area just off Interstate 81 ride Highway 58 From Damascus east to Volney. Another amazing road with good curves and a beautiful scenic ride.

Jim, been out there a couple of times and been up and down the Dragon probably 8 times. Early in the morning is definitely the time to be there. All the other times it was a rolling traffic jam. From a riding standpoint that day was a blast.

Was a Sunday morning about 8 am. I haven't shared this in the comments before now, but I was on my way back to the scene of a fatality accident. Was not riding as fast as I could, was just enjoying the bike and the road. It was unknown to me that the rider had passed until I arrived at the accident site. I had left a friend who's a doctor to do what he could. The rider had succumbed to his injuries and passed before I returned. His group passed me setting up my GoPro on the north end of the Dragon preparing to ride south. I rolled off about a minute and one half after they had passed, and caught them right before he crashed. The guy was riding erratic, and I saw him ride off the side of the mountain. It was a helpless feeling. I tell you all of this to simply say. Be careful. It is a beautiful place to ride a motorcycle. If you ride quickly you have to be especially careful of other bikes and cars crossing the centerline. You always have to be careful of that, but speed only increases the risk. There are also decreasing radius turns to contend with. You can deal with all these things safely as long as you are aware. Go enjoy the road. 318 turns in 11 miles with no side roads or drives is a rider's dream. Just be aware and be safe. Keeping the rubber side down and the shiny side up. Blessings!

Specifically I do not know what components were used. I had the work done at Wing Ding a couple of years ago. Explained my riding style, gave them my weight, they set it up from there. In the front they installed new springs, slider bushings, and disabled the anti-dive. Did not install new catridges. On the rear they replaced the whole shock assembly. Bike does not dive in the front any more and is much better balance. Just point it where you want to go and twist the throttle. Good stuff. Very pleased with the results.

Never had the chance to ride a supermoto out there. It would be fun. No comparison in speed though. You have a 250 pound supermoto riding against a 850 pound lead sled. you have to be smooth to make any time and stay out of trouble. Those guys rip around those corners like they are on rails.

which on is better? f6b or goldwing?
@Stinger-ng5mr8 жыл бұрын
Ridden both. Prefer the wing. The F6B is a little wide in the saddle and the the windscreen offers little protection for my taste. Basically the same bike. You can do the same things on both from a performance perspective. The F6B's greatest advantage is less unsprung weight, and a lower center of gravity.

Good to see you could make a run without the Police on several areas of the run and without a tractor trailer across the road. Too many people go here expecting a race course and either end up being air lifted out or getting a ticket, or loosing a life. Just my opinion after being here numerous times.
@Stinger-ng5mr10 жыл бұрын
First I would say your right an all counts. Police, traffic, using the road as a race course; on the Dragon there is always something to be aware of that poor timing and running out of skill cannot overcome. There is an unfortunate story behind the video that I will not share in this format. Lets sum things up by saying that motorcycling is always a balance between risk and reward. Any time you ride this section of road you need to be extremely cautious. I happened to be there early this day and there was light traffic at the time. This condition is seldom ever the case. Thank you for your comment and be safe out there.
@davidfalgout73047 жыл бұрын
way cool, but dangerous. Rode the beast many times. Had friends try to keep up and toss the bike, minor injuries. At this point in my life, I look back on those days and wonder how I survived. There is a time and place for that kind of riding. Its called track days. Hence the reason for the story you don't want to divulge. Truth is anyone can swing a leg over a bike. Many can ride. Few can ride well. Even fewer are good enough to go fast and not be injured.

David, thank you for the reply. There is a lot going on that this video does not tell. The clip started at the store where I have called emergency services and I was on my way back to what turned out to be a fatality accident. The hard “make time trip” was going to the store. I was just settling in to a nice brisk pace on my way back. As it turns out Deals Gap claimed another inexperienced rider riding over their head. Was a sad day on many levels. When I looked at the video I had I decided to post this one. I had told friends I would do that before I left for Tennessee. Be safe.

Good video- Please get rid of all the apostrophes that aren't needed. "Dragon's are dangerous," and "Dragon's Bite" etc. "Dragons Bite" is correct. There is nothing possessive in that statement, and bad grammar just enforces the stereotype that motorcyclists are meatheads.

Not really impressed with what part? Having been there a couple times on bikes, I can tell you he was really moving thru those curves.
