+rangerbobcat It's a skill you pick up. The players in my home game signed a contract with some dark elves, so I wrote up the actual contract, because I knew the details of the terms would come up in play. I think I did a pretty good job of making it as thorough and unambiguous as possible given that it was only four pages long. Then again, I do have a master's in Taxation, so reading and analyzing tax laws and regulations are kind of my wheelhouse. Just for good measure, I had my players sign it using their character's names. I also made them use a red pen so they could realize they were signing in their own blood.
@goldflame33905 жыл бұрын
Lilith2014 Nice! I’ve been working on a contract as well, and the first page is mostly Asmodeus’s names and titles so far. He’ll gain their services “until the completion of the Blood War.” Can’t wait to see if the party finds a problem with that!

I really want to thank Matthew Mercer, and the cast and crew at Critical Role, they're an inspiration. Thanks for sharing D&D with us and making it a part of our lives!

When Ipkesh revealed that his overlord was a pit fiend and VM tried to remember how they'd beaten the one in the City of Brass, no one recalled that it was Scanlan who saved the day with a pretty ingenious move. That for me summed up exactly why they deserve to be without an amazing character whose skill set they clearly took for granted. Scanlan was by far the most resourceful member of VM. He did what he did without immense size, strength, speed, flight, gadgetry or a laundry list of spells, all while providing support through inspiration and healing, often before healing himself. I really admired the mindful way Sam played Scanlan. Now that he's gone and Taryon has joined VM, I notice once their bacon starts to fry, they turn to him and ask, "Can't you do something??" Tary's cheerful "Nope!" cracks me up every time because with Scanlan they would not even have to ask. Ahhh, karma.
@GonkyWonkler5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. Scanlan has been treated mighty unfairly. Every other character of Vox Machina was/is so self-involved, they never considered him, his history, his feelings and opinions. He was 100% taken for granted. For all the times he joked about being the unofficial leader of VM, he really was, in my opinion. But without his spells "he's just a dude."

@@themeanlesbeann Its completely fair, for MANY reasons, the main 2 being they keep extensive notes, and that they constantly bring up details of things that even happened pre-stream ,but to top it off .......its on the net.... plus they Literally have a stats tracker (rolls, kills, deals, etc) that they have confirmed they use, so you've not really made a valid point but sure. Or put it this way you boss asks you about something you did wrong 6 months ago, do you 1. play the high road "oh that was 6 months ago may i point out" and hope that you don't get fired for not making note of something important or ... 2. Say whatever it is you did wrong, as the human brain CAN and DOES keep memory for more than 6 months (unless you are a gold fish man, in that case sucks to be you). Something tells me your the number one type, in conclusion with all the facts at hand, the fact they don't recall such a detail yet they have COMPLETE understanding (and notes) of what they all did, just proves even more so that they did take the character and what he brought to the group for granted
