I was nine years old in 1964 when my Grandmother and I were sitting in our car waiting for my parents to return from shopping when this came on our radio. As Dean Martin sang this tune, we sang right along with him. Do kids today sing popular music, that they hear on the radio, along with their grandparents? I am so glad I have those wonderful memories. She has been gone now for 45 years, and I have loved and missed her every day that has gone by.

Hey I was 9 in 64 as well! Not exactly! My Grandmother preferred Mario Lanza! However my grandson is into music from all eras and styles -he says anything except the top 40! So on a road trip we have 3 generations singing to songs, from 50s to current times, (enough CDs for a 12 hr road trip and back even!) -So he introduced me to Adele, James Blunt, and many other almost recent hits we sing along to -alongside oldies we've found together or independently!

Next thursday I'll be confessing my love to my crush. I'm an introverted person, so this kind of things accelerate my heart to a point I can't take it anymore and I get heartache. The past year I got rejected by my old crush, and after her I didn't felt *love* for any girl. Everyday like that, until she openly told me when I was alone whether I wanted to join her chemistry team for a group project. Since then, I started seeing her with a "different" perspective, to the point I realised I fell in love again with a pure angel that was brought to me by God when I was more needed. This year was pretty tough, and since the beginning I didn't wanted to keep going... but I did it... I did it for *her* . Highschool will be over pretty soon, but I don't wanna confess at the very last moment. That'd be living my life as a coward. I'll tell her how I feel, how her smile brightens my day, how her short black hair makes her look beautiful, how her thoughts open my mind insanely, how her brilliant brain amazes me, how her determination motivates me to keep moving forward, how her chat topics fulfill my interests, and many more things. I think she likes me back, and I hope that's the case. If I somehow end up being rejected, I will not cry, because in the end, I'll find another angel that will fill my heart again. Wish me good luck, guys... 💖 EDIT: She said yes 🥰🤗😇💖

I see this song as a double feeling Where you fall in love with someone and live happily ever after, with joy Or more somber, seeing everyone else falling in love and wishing it upon yourself. Either way, always a classic
@BING_BONG_DID_YOUR_MOM Жыл бұрын
yeah i was thinking about this. The feeling of watching everyone around falling in love. But being the person for whom love is just not working out properly. The feeling of loneliness.
@Aiden-wg4pu11 ай бұрын
Either way, it’s a good song to use at the end of a story, whether the protagonist’s growth was positive or negative. They could’ve beat the villain and got the girl, or they could’ve lost their girl and beat the villain only to find themselves worse than the villain ever was.

yeah for me its second, watching all the love around me, how surrounded I am yet how so alone I am, but hey I guess thats how it is huh.

No one can compare to Dean Martin's voice. No one could ever sound like him no matter how hard they tried. One word out of a song told you exactly who it was. His is the epitome of a velvet voice. I am grateful he made it possible for us to hear that voice forever. RIP, Dean.

Probably no one will see this but.. I met this guy he just seems amazing. We agree on everything important, and he even likes the same old songs I do. I want to dance with him to this song. We went on our first date this Sunday right after church together, we held hands a lot of the service and it was just wonderful. I hope this lasts, and I hope he’s the one. 💕 Update: today is our one month anniversary 🥰 everything has been great and so far it seems like he may be the one 🤍 he’s been here every Sunday and we spend time together every week. We’re very happy! Thank you all for the well wishes! Update 2: we just had our 6 month!! 🥰 I’m happier than ever and so in love with this man, truly. God really brought us together and I feel so blessed to have him in my life. Edit 3: We’ve been together 1 year! I love him with my whole heart, and I hope that never changes. 🫶🏻

This song is bitter-sweet to me. There was a girl that I was romantically interested in, I thought she was way out of my league but never the less after a few weeks of flirting with her she agreed to let me take her out on a date, after I got her text telling me to pick her up in Saturday this is was first song that played on my car radio on the way to work and it was one of the happiest moments of my life. It didn't work out between us and it happened that the day we went on a date would be the last day we ever saw each other. Her mother died and she went back to her home country and I left the job and worked in a different part of the country.
