Margaret Kathleen Regan (September 14, 1919 - April 10, 1980), better known as Kay Medford, was an American actress. For her performance as Rose Brice in the musical Funny Girl and the film adaptation of the same name, she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress respectively.

Kay Medford came back from a difficult situation. In her teens both her parents passed on. She was very good at portraying the Jewish mother. She came from full Irish background. Valerie Harper did this as well. When the Mary Tyler Moore show was going on, everyone loved "Rhoda" and she was a major part of the show. No one suspected that Harper is of Irish background. Harper said that she had a lot of Jewish girlfriends in High School and she took a lot from that to form the character she played. When she left the MTM to go onto a successful spinoff, other than MTM, the cast was very happy about it, because they would get more time and their characters would be noticed more. Harper was so successful on that show that after a while, the show was concentrating on the relationship Mary and Rhoda had.
