I always thought that Dean would have been a great and entertaining host for the Acedwny Award show but in those days Bob Hope had it locked up and later Johnny Carson. But Dean would have been great at it.

He was already pretty busy. He still had his shows in Las Vegas and he would be starting his own variety show soon. And he was still doing acting jobs with Matt Helm.

I'd say he was too busy. He also didn't like being tied to things like rehearsals. His show was enough, plus golfing.

00:28 Dean actually had stage fright when he was away from his own production company or his Vegas shows where he had total control. Typically he touches his nose, sticks his hand inside his jacket, as shown here, and sometimes twists his wedding ring around.

Fun fact that ring on his pinky is actually a gift from Frank Sinatra, if you look closely at pictures with Frank you'll notice that both have rings on their pinky. Also I'm not too sure he ever really wore his wedding ring.

And I Truly like,admire Julie Andrews,who I met in St.Louis,MO.at the Fox Theatre in Nov.1987. I welcomed her to St.Louis,and expressed to her,that she had guts,and I like people who have guts.She smiled at me,while I shook her hand,saying that to her.Julie Andrews Is One Special.Human.Being.
