I got the chance to see him live in the 80's with Sinatra and Liza Minelli and he was mesmerizing. When his set finished it was like you had been carried away. I remember seeing him on TV, Merv Griffin and the like, but nothing held a candle to the live performance.

I am a widow, my husband Jim and I were married 58 years. We saw the rat pack in Las Vegas at the Sahara in the 60s. They were amazing. WE HAVE !!! They were great friends & there's a story about Frank & Dean, they heard that the hotel/ casino wouldn't let Sammy Davis in thru the front door, that he had to enter like all blacks who worked there, thru the back. So the guys got ahold of the front desk & management to tell them that either Sammy was allowed to enter thru the front doors with them or like them 8or they were leaving & would never play there again.... So low & behold Sammy was allowed to enter thru the front doors & so were "all" the other black employees, know why ? They'd lose too much money & also, didn't want to take a chance of the other employees being backed by The Rat Pack....

As a child in the 60's & 70's I loved the rat pack. Dean was so funny and smooth, Sammy was just so damn talented, and Frank no words to describe him.. Who Johnny could sing like that. I saw Frank in concert when he was at the Aire Crown Theater. I was an Andy Frain usher and loved it.

Holy Moly- they were not only outrageously hilarious-. But what talent they all possessed ! All superstars in their own rights- but as a Team- unbelievable ! These guys were my dad's generation, but I used to love staying up late with my dad and sister and watching them perform . I was the youngest in the family , but I appreciated Dean, Frank, Sammy and the other Rat Packers . Dean once was quoted to saying: "Water? I never touch the stuff!".....hilarious, man :):):)!!!
