There's been a lot of discussion about that, and many says that she has had some bad back problems. Because of that she has needed some medication and those meds are the reason of all that swelling. Some adverse effect.. Anyways she's still beautiful :)

I like Meg 2.0, but I really miss her original form. They need to find some way to bring back the creepy Nicki Aycox. Rachel's Meg isn't nearly as intimidating, especially now that she's joined Team Free Will. When I first saw Rachel Miner in this episode, I thought she put on some weight, but then they zoomed out and her body was still the same, but only her face is pudgy. Oh, Rachel, what happened to you?

The actress playing Meg has multiple sclerosis in real life and it started to affect her acting at the end of her supernatural days. I think she does an excellent job all things considered.
