My headcanon is that because dean growing up in such a masculine an almost military environment (I can’t imagine John being okay with either of his sons being gay), he ended up fixating on sex with women as a way to ignore and repress the side of himself that is attracted to men. And then along comes Cas and as their relationship grows, Dean has a harder and harder time ignoring that to the point where a lot of the tension in their relationship is not just unresolved sexual tension , but that Dean hates that it’s there at all (because internalized homophobia is definitely happening) and he ends up taking that hatred out on Castiel (and himself)

So you know the Siren episode? I thought it was really funny that all of the male victims were getting hot women strippers, while Dean got a man. Strippers sound like right up Dean’s alley so I was confused to why they didn’t make him get poisoned by one. The sirens apparently are supposed to look like the perfect thing that you’re looking for. Not just looks, but personality & everything. The fact that Deans “perfect person” is a dude, just confirms that he’s a little gay.
