Given the number of tools you service and repair I am always amazed at your ability to remember what part goes where and the order in which they should be reassembled. I occasionally fix my own stuff but I have to take photos as a trail of bread crumbs to put things back together.

Both are excellent, but I do prefer the longer ones, but as a treat, not the norm. Thank you for the videos, watching prompted me to buy, "spares", bits from eBay and repair them as a way to keep the brain going while caring for my wife. Fixes were donated to the hospice shop when completed, so wins all round. Please keep up the good work.

My repairs stop at the point where you have to clean with paint thinner, lol. As for the video's the ones with the surprise boxes with all sort of machines in them are the most fun for me. And I lowkey enjoy the ones with the odd items for repair a lot: the kitchen machines and the parkside hammer drill comes to mind.
@daviddavies15967 ай бұрын
Long videos are great Dean, whether they be one major repair or several smaller ones grouped together. I realise you can only show what you have in for attention but I don't recall seeing you working on any jigsaws (or at least on the mechanical bit). Are they indestructible? Keep up the good work!

Whilst I enjoy the "box of tools" videos knowing I'm getting at least an hour or more of learning... This video was 35+ minutes.... Maybe two tools to this detail in an hour? You asked for opinion, that's mine. Otherwise I'll watch a 10 minute (non-riktok) or a two hour (over time). Love your work, as always
@AdlanRedzovic7 ай бұрын
the detailed video is better because it shows every step you need to repair your tool. and this is for great respect and reward because it conveys knowledge to us. Thanks Dean.

I like the longer videos Dean, your explanations are brilliant as you give a why something needs to be done in a certain way too. A Bosch GSH 11 VC strip and rebuild would be handy. Thanks for taking the time to educate us! Much appreciated 👍 Would a large ultrasonic cleaner be better for clean up? Just leave it to do its thing saving the brushing and scrubbing? I don’t know as deciding whether to get one for my small hobby repair workshop.
@WombleUK7 ай бұрын
Morning Dean, I enjoy all the content you post. The most important thing is that you post content you like because if you don't enjoy it you won't won't want to do it. The videos I don't like are the ones shot in the format where it looks like it was filmed sideways through a letterbox, as loads of people watch KZbin on large LCD TVs not that format doesn't really work. But thats not a moan about that actual content just the video aspect ratio 😉

Hi Dean, I was wondering if you could give me some information. I recently was given a load of Makita power tools (drills, grinders and planer) and they all work. I opened them up to inspect them and cleaned them and changed the brushes where necessary however, the grease seems to be breaking down and is a bit suspect. Can you recommend a standard grease as a replacement that I could buy in larger quantities so I could do all the machines in one go. I see that Makita does tubes of grease but buying a load of them would be expensive and I was looking for the cheapest way to regrease them but to do the job right.

I think I’d watch them long or short honestly so ultimately whichever one is easiest for you. However I think maybe you could do like 4 shorter videos then at the end of the month a video of them in one big video or if you have a big job like this maybe that could be the big video that month as that would satisfy both camps.
