Only a 4 day week this week. But still managed to get through over 50 machines.
But even more than that have also arrived in for repair. So the broken todo pile keeps getting bigger.
These are some of the tools I pulled from the broken pile hoping they would be a quick and easy fix, so I could get through faster.
00:01 Hitachi Hikoki DV 18 DBFL2 Cordless drill with a slipping gear.
12:00 Old Hitachi M12VC Router with a faulty speed controller.
18:08 Milwaukee HD 18 HX SDS Drill that keeps knocking of.
25:04 Hitachi Hikoki C7SB3 circular saw with a broken blade guard.
30:58 Old Makita LS1013L Miter saw making a grinding sound.
32:22 Makita DTD 173 Impact driver with a faulty switch.
37:20 Bosch GWS 7-117 Grinder spluttering and farting and won't run.
41:00 Bosch GWS 22-230 H Grinder with a smashed head or locked up blade.
1:02:51 Hikoki Metabo HPT NR 1890 DC nailer gun with a broken front or front probe.
Be warned, the hikoki nail gun was a simple part but as it turned out it was not a cheap part. That front nail guide cost around 160 euro.
Crazy money,

Hi, I work in a workshop that sells and repairs pneumatic nailers. We sell MAX, TJEP, RGN, Haubold, Paslode and Toolmatic. We also have the entire Hikoki range of tools for sale and we repair them too. Nice to see a "colleague" at work👍🏼. Best wishes from Bavaria and stay healthy.

I love seeing "Hitachi" on the body, that's how you know it has had many years on it before anything went bad. These Hitachis, HiKokis and Metabo HPTs are just built to go and go.

I got nearly 30 Hitachi/Hikoki machines and they are great. Got my first one back in 2016 and been expanding ever since when I've needed new tool for something I've done.

Not sure if it is a good tip or not but heat shrink can also be very beneficial with cleaning up frayed shoe laces or if you have too long ones at home. I just figured the material is close enough to what I need after my old laces ripped off from use. So far it has been holding up well and you can't really notice it

Love the repairathons but a lot of the time U wish you did more individual videos, even if multiple a day. Reason why is I would love to be able to search for a specific tool fix. Like the library of Dean :)

@deandohertygreaser please do. You dont realise how useful it would be for someone to put in a tool name and get your videos on it. Your calm, honest, pragmatic breakdown and explanation of tool repair is fantastic. I don't join patreon because I send money for things that help me. I have before and will again. Love your work and approach.

Yea, they were all easy until you got to the Hikkoki nail gun, great videos as always. I still do not mind dragging a hose around and compressor, pneumatic nail guns are much more reliable and much easier to maintain and work on. Thanks for the diversity of tools repaired.

A real man values and takes care of his tools. I have seen guys be running a tool and back it off the work but it is still spinning and switch the gears or change it from forward to reverse while the innards are still spinning this is like jamming your gears in a manual transmission it wears the parts and it only takes a few seconds awaiting till the parts come to a stop then change the speed or the direction and this will extend the life of your tool.

Quick question-I have a number of cordless tools which spend a lot of time on the shelf-My strimmer and lawn mower for example spend months in hibernation-should I be charging them now and again or will they be ok?

Hi Dean, love the long videos. I as take in the shorts. The fire alarm panel video has me wondering if you noticed that the old batteries were wired in series (24 VDC), and your new battery was 12 VDC. You could be cooking your new battery. I retired from working on alarm systems in the US and have seen a variety of different voltages.

Yes it's ment to be 2 12v batteries. But I didn't have 2. But had to fit something to stop that annoying buzzing fault.
