Hi! Thanks for the video! I am getting a smaller safe(about 400 pounds) And was curious how easy that’s going to be move with just an appliance dolly. I only have a small ledge in the garage going into the house and everything else is pretty flat

If you have a four wheel appliance dolly it’ll be no issue at all. Just make sure it’s well strapped to the dolly. It’s also very doable with a two wheel dolly. make sure it’s strapped well and having a friend help wouldn’t hurt.

Is it okay to leave bolted on pallet? I like it’s lifted off ground and rather have it off ground if water floods

+Zachary Wright It’s OK but it makes easier to move, and possibly, steal. If you’re not going to bolt the safe down you may want to look at a new product we have called the puck. It’s an alarm that you put inside the safe, works great. Check www.deansafe.com Thanks for watching, John

What's the best way to move a gun safe when it's delivered? I was planning on replacing my current safe for a bigger one. Do most of these fit through an average doorway on a refrigerator dolly with the safe turned with the narrow side facing towards the door?

+Andrew Fisher Use an appliance dolly that has two wheels that kick out that’ll take the weight off and it should roll in quite easily. Most appliance dolly‘s are rated at 12:00 pounds. You’re right, mount the safe on the dolly sideways, we often remove the spokes of three and five spoke handles and try to be as careful as we can not to hit the lock while going through a doorway. Highly recommend closing and locking the door before you move it or lift it. Please be careful, it can kill you or a buddy. The door is the heaviest part so even slight movement of the door can throw the entire safe off balance. Stay safe, John

+Backto1980 Azn It’s similar but not exactly the same we have difficulty spinning the safe on the pallet so we drive the pallet out from under the safe by Repeatedly hitting the pallet with the pallet jack. We started with 2000lbs and worked our way up to over 6000 pounds. It’s not for the faint of heart.

I like to remove the door when handling a large safe. Makes it much lighter.

+Just Me I understand, the door is by far the heaviest part of the safe than can be removed. But be cautious. Our safes moving guys won’t remove the doors when moving safes. Turns out many quality safes have bearings in the hinges. anything from needle bearings to just a big round steel marble. Once lost, the safe door will never shut right again, if at all. They feel rather than removing the door it’s safer to call in and have another truck come out with the correct moving equipment to complete the job. Thanks for watching, John

You wouldn't happen to know how to remove the handle (not spoked handle) from a liberty safe do you? Liberty customer service are idiots. Then again so am I as I will explain. My handle was broken during shipping. Libert was good by sending a new handle. CS said unscrew, pull or pry the handle (here's hwere I'm an idiot. I tried prying it for like 2 minsm then realized, it's just eating up my door.) So now I have gouges, and the broken handle is still every bit as locked. There is not side screws. I am starting to think, someone put some red locktite on this shit. The whole locking mechanism warps inward when I give it my all to pull it out. Yeah friends do not buy a Libertry safe. I can go on for a few paragraphs about why I feel I got fucked although the save was sold 35% off.
