►A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I'm Dean Wolfe, a mostly self-taught Canadian guitarist/composer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer/performer. I started out as a full time musician, on the road at age 17-19, then went part-time ever since, holding 'day-careers' like chef (red seal papers), spiritual health care while raising a family. As a producer I've made hundreds of my own songs for media and award winning documentaries etc. I've been in several bands including a prog/jazz fusion act nFuze, playing International Jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I mostly abandoned the prog genre in the '90s but have returned to it now with vigour 30 years later. My own prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i explored grunge, pop rock and alternative, alt-folk / acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ambient electronic as well. Recently i found shoegaze and lo-fi as well. I have a home studio that is ramping up for lots more music so stay tuned.

"Band Maid always makes me feel happy." This is it in one short sentence. It's always an emotional experience and it is often a BUNCH of different emotions but the sum of the parts is always happiness. I've seen them 11 times now and all but twice I was on the rail. If you remove family moments from the equation, there is no happier place on Earth then the rail at a Band Maid concert. (That is why it gets harder and harder and EARLIER AND EARLIER to get a rail spot).

Seeing the Maids live and up close in a small, intimate club is a "Thrill" of a lifetime. One should consider themselves lucky to experience them like this because it's becoming rare. And as for sound... it'll be the best hard rockin' sound you can imagine -- clear, discreet, powerful and full of energy and joyful vibes! (And no compression!! ;-) Just ask anyone who's experienced them live. In fact, we've been getting an earful of "wow's" and "that was incredible" from all the reactors and commenters from their successful 2022 & 2023 Band-Maid USA Tours. Prog Rock on, Dean!

"They are not delicate flowers" - I love that, that's exactly what I thought when I saw them live ... no, not exactly: at first, during the meet and greet, i actually thought they were like delicate little flowers - and smelling like it too. But later, when I saw them on stage, I saw real road warriors, and despite the exhausting heat, they played two hours nearly relentlessly. They may be delicate looking, but they're definitly not fragile 😎

Band Maid is able to call their own shots. As a result,there is no telling where their future plans could land them. Will Saiki do her own solo project (as Miku did)? Will Kanami feel the urge to compose a fully orchestrated concert (she certainly has the ability)? Will the Maids release an album with a jazz/prog rock or blues motif ? Will the Maids release an album of classic covers ( my personal dream )? They seem, as many have said, to be able to do whatever they set their minds to...and do it better than anyone ! ♥️🇯🇵 Thank you Dean for your unique insights on the greatest band of my 59 years !! 😁

I doubt that. Saiki shines the best in Band-Maid surrounded by members who love and who she loves. She lets others shine almost too much. She's worked with Miku on lyrics and vocal melody arrangements but she tends to hide behind Miku. I think she's still a shy girl at heart and her voice isn't the popular kind in Japan.

Now that she's nervously ( and courageously) crossed the solo threshold, it will be fascinating to see what she will do next ! She will certainly never have to doubt the love her fans have for her !

As usual, thank you for continuing to check out Band Maid. One of the coolest things about The Maids is they actually met my other favorite band, The Warning and both groups spoke of how much they liked each other’s music and how cool it would be to get the opportunity to tour together one day. 🤞

I think he takes the audio from the best sounding Fancam and uses that as the master. Some of the fans (Vladimir and a few others) spend a LOT of $$ to have the best microphones

Technically "YOLO" is their oldest song..The basis being written by Kanami before joining BAND-MAID....Has always pushed to be a Top 5 for me..though I no longer want to say I have a top five..just a top two.
