8:45 - Great point. Having advantage over TVS/BAJAJ/HONDA in RND & material science is very impressive, but it isn't showing yet in the products. Neither the energy density has improved nor has the cost come down as they don't have production capacity after a decade in the game. 2L for a vehicle w/ only 130km of range (probably at city speeds, even worse on highways) that is still just a toy, so why not buy a dirt bike? Considering my heavier weight & daily commute from Delhi to Gurgaon - 110km w/ 60-70% on flyways/NHway, I doubt I'll even make it back home on day 1, which will only worsen as battery deteriorates.

Me and my dad currently rock this. The 450X and the X440. Sounds great but the Harley-Davidson X440 was completely my dad’s (against my wished for a svartpilen 401 🥲) and the Ather seemed like a good first vehicle for me. 😊

Owner of 3 EVs. Ampere magnus ex bought in jan 2021 for around 89k on road. Have ridden it for 39000ish kilometers and im not satisfied with it. Its cheap chinese import 2. Ather 450x gen 3 bought in nov 2022. Have ridden it 42500kms till date and my dad loves it. Their service and build quality is top notch but the parts are expensive and range is adequate at best. Gives around 80kms in real world ( i use warp mode ) 3. Ola s1 pro gen 2. Bought it last December 1st but got my hands on it this January 8th.Delivery took almost 45 days. Its a beast. You can expect 100+ kms range. The max I've got is 116kms with 17 percent charge left. The build quality is average ( you can expect panel gaps ) and the sevice tho lacking has improved. When i first bought it my service centre had 3 guys now they have 10+ people working. Software bugs are minimal now since the last update. If ola can improve their quality control they can still dominate the market. Have ridden my ola around 21000kms

Hey anurag I have been watching your videos for such a long time, I just wanna share a quick incident rather a quick story, and yes this might sound " made up " but trust me it's not , yes so here I begin. I am currently an 11th standard student studying for jee , i have always been very passionate about cars and bikes, this story took place 5-6 years ago, at that time we were about to enter the legendary lockdown era, I every time had that passion regarding bikes and cars, once I was out with my mom ( this is in the past ) we were on her activa and I was a pillion a thought came to my mind " aradhya agar apan accelerate karte hai neeche toh agar apan usse reverse ghumaye ( throttle ko ) toh we can brake isn't it ? " Ye thought aaya tha mujhe and that one thought stuck in mind i worked on it and when I was ready to showcase it i first confronted my mom about this she replied with " abhyasa var laksha de he nantar kar ( lemme translate this - padhai pe focus kar badme ispe dhyan de ) " i wanted to patent this idea but I was unsuccessful and then my friend he bought a bike ( scooter ) of ather and it had this exact feature that was of reverse braking that really broke my heart my heart was broken into thousands of pieces, now I can't do anything about that and I'll be needing to moving on but yes this was it this was my idea but it " indirectly " got stolen. Being an owner of 450X Gen 3.1 I also faced issues with the brakes. They're so powerful and lock up easily. And at the mileage of just 27k KM I needed to change my rear tyre twice, belt once, and my TPMS stopped working all of a sudden. The scooter as a whole is great but it needs a few changes. The panel gaps are horrendous, TPMS stopped working after 18 Months ( it only happened to me, other scooter owners in Ather Community didn't face this issue), belts aren't long lasting amd needs maintainence ( they'll squeak even during rains ), Tyres grip well in dry but slip easily in wet and doesn't last more than 10K KM.

i get your reservations in the start with the tc, but you have to remember on a 125 cc petrol scooter/ bike, these are single cylinders or thumpers. on thumpers the power is generated only in the 90 degrees of the crank cycle. the rest 270 degrees doesnt have power anyway. this isnt much of a deal but this is where the "is the tc really necessary and will it actually work part" comes from. but on an electric scooter where the power delivery can be constant and instant for that matter, a sufficient computer would be able to manage power efficiently using tc. props to ather nicely done.

I've been thinking about the 'Combi Brakes' ever since it had been launched and being ridden 2-W and 4-W since before teenage, I always thought that Combi Brake should work only if we apply front brake as we use it for urgent braking where combi brake would probably prevent slipping. When we use rear brake, we don't want to stop immediately so even if there's combi brake it should only be while applying front brake. And yeah, I think ABS should be mandated in every vehicle that's priced over 1 Lakh.

The adjustable suspension idea came to my mind as well as 450X/S suspension is stiff for city cruise, having the ability to adjust them according to your requirements will be a very big update. Soft adjustment for city rides and stiff for highways, sorts out lot of things. Hope they consider this idea.

I have loved the Ather since it was launched and was only available in Bangalore. I wanted to purchase it even then even it was not available in my city. But now when I've test ridden it, I can't bring myself to purchase it because I'm afraid of its brakes. When I tested it, I came to realise that if I'm going at around 80kmph and panic brake, I'll be thrown off the scooter. Lack of ABS is a major deal breaker. As soon as they give ABS even as an option, I'm gifting myself a new scooter. 😅

I get the whole rally mode request but I feel like that is more of an 450 apex feature then the 450X feature as that is really for the people who want to squeeze the most out of the 450 platform than the more “everyday” 450/450X. But yes as a gen 2 450X owner I severely miss the ABS. Just the amount of confidence it provides to attempt more fun things can’t be beat.
