As a black woman I too gave up on my culture a long time ago. If you are down it's because YOU wish to be that low. The opportunities that exist for us as a race that are being ignored to keep this racism going. We have as a race traveled backwards since Malcolm and MLK and all I see is darkness surrounding our communities. Darkness not light. God must be shaking his head at our plight.

That is the same thing my late mother said. She attended college in the fifties. She said she thought we as a people were going places, but the culture shift was so disappointing to her. Why is gangster culture so prevalent now. It really is a shame.

@@mechelledesigns My background in Sociology. 'Gangsters', represent certain qualities of traditional manhood., such as appearing to be strong and independent. But people need to learn to look beyond the image into reality. As a youth many years ago western's were popular shows on television. They represented the same qualities of manhood. The major difference from that time was, people understood that it was entertainment, not things that would lead to real life success. it appears to me that schools have to focus so much on high stakes testing, that other important life lessons seem to be neglected.

Socialism The word nazi only exist so that socialists can distance themselfes from the national socialist movement, uf you look closely you will see how similiar they are
@yurei8Күн бұрын
@notthisyourlight The 'nazis' did that for themselves simply to shorten an five syllable phrase down to to two. So you are wrong. The socialism came from Hitler, who was actually undercover went to meetings of "The German Workers Party". He ended up, taking it over due to his powerful orating skills. So the label from the GWP eventually became the 'socialism' part of National Socialism. The party took a hard right. In National Socialism, the socialism was part of public works such as building the Autobahn. But the 'nationalism' was about race, with Germans identifying with term Aryan race. So Germany expansion and war was about Hitler's idea of Aryans as a "master race", and the control of resources belong to 'inferior races', as he defined them in his book "Mein Kampf". It was about race/nationalism not socialism. If Nazi Germany was socialist, they would have likely seized industries. Instead Hitler allowed wealthy to keep thier lucrative businesses and industries. So today that nation's structure would be considered more of an oligarchy, not socialist. Socialism and democracy are compatible. Thus in Europe today we have what are called 'social democracies'. So this is proof that they are compatible. I give the Right credit for having consistent talking points, top to bottom. But Truth is not important to them. And this is why critical thinking is such a danger to them. But I still bless you, and pray that you will learn the truth in life.

@@deletenow3276 No they weren't. And you are doing their tactics yourself. That is repeating something false over and over until people believe it. Hitler and Mussolini were allies. Mussolini created the term Fascism, I believe. There is no such term in wide use as "racial socialism". They are two separate things which sometime intersect. Anyway the most important feature of Nazi Germany was the worship of Hitler, not it's economic/social systems. A dictator is a dictator, no matter what the economic system.

I read from books like "The People Could Fly" and "Show Way". These children had never heard of these authors nor did they even know what a Show Way was. What astounded me was the fact that black people blame whites and the education system for not teaching black history, but explain to me if slaves could teach entire plantations of slaves how to make and use a Show Way to escape and teach other slaves to read and write why black people in this day and age can not teach their own children black history. Hey people, the slaves did the hard work all you have to do is read and pass on the stories! Stop blaming others for your laziness and disinterest. Turn off the Cardi B video and pick up a book.

We need more voices and strength like this young man here speaking the truth. I wish more folks who lived through the pre-civil rights bill would talk about the culture and what it was really like. But that's been lost, because the radical change, for the worst, of the AA family and culture came with LBJ reforms. Also, we've forgotten that post slavery we had some incredible individuals. There was a time we studied great achievers in the black race, and took pride of their accomplishments. Women like Susan Maria McKinney Steward, Mary Burnett Talbert, Addie Waites Hunton, all born during the time of slavery. All achieved higher education degrees, extraordinary women who refused to take the role of victim-hood. Unfortunately there's a whole generation that are totally unaware of how greatness was accomplished decade after decade, until 1960s. It's almost as if the history of people who did such important things has been erased by the cultural mindset of today.

Please tell me if this is an ignorant view but I think the main thing keeping this argument alive is that it gives people a way of escaping responsibility for the choices they have made. It's easier to blame others or the system then it is to look at yourself honestly. I went through most of my life convinced that I would never be able to rise above my less than productive life. Now I am almost 50 I look back and see that I did absolutely nothing to try to rise above it and become more. I always had a job and all that. Didn't go down a real bad road. But I put forth very little effort since 8 thought it was pointless. Or maybe, I just used that thought to escape the fact that I was just being lazy and self serving. So I understand how easy it can be to fall into that trap of unknowing self neglect.

Christian societies were the first to even consider slavery as being evil in the first place. The UK was the First Nation to EVER abolish slavery, followed relatively soon after by the United States, which always had a contentious relationship with the practice since its founding. It was not lost on the founders that “All Men Are Created Equal” yet SOME states participated in slavery. The truth is, there was a fight over it from the very beginning of the country, which played out over the years until the Civil War during which a bunch of overwhelmingly White majority people fought a brutal, bloody, chaotic, hellish war to abolish it and free their fellow men. Slavery was not in every state, and it was not something everyone did. In fact, only the richest in society had slaves, and most laborers hated it because it suppressed their wages. America/ Christians were uniquely responsible for declaring slavery as an evil system and uniquely responsible for abolishing it, which is specifically what the Republican Party was explicitly formed to do. It was successful, and fought a war against Democrats so that we could finally achieve the high ideals that the nation was founded on. Yet - Americans/ Christians are uniquely punished and blamed for slavery/ racism by the very people who would have been clinging to their plantations in the days before it was annihilated.

"I doine revoked my black card" I am an American dude with family going back all the way to the Plymouth colony and other ancestors from (over 50% Irish) as well as Scottish, German and Brit/Norman. In other words, American "Catholic white" by every single stretch of the imagination. Hearing one can 'revoke' their "own card" has me half-joking, "Where do I cancel my 'white privilege' card? I never signed up for this damn subscription in the first place!"

Imagine if a Native American said don’t blame colonialism for everything or a Jewish person said don’t blame the Holocaust for everything. That’d sound kinda tone deaf.

I went through trauma as a young child where I was SA for years. I finally said no and I overcame that trauma by becoming a psych nurse and worked with abused children. It can be done

I personally will not revoke my "Black Card" (if my card does get revoked I'd rather it be done by "Someone" OTHER THAN MYSELF).

It's worth noting that the words "slave" and "Slav" come from the same origin. Something worth thinking about when it comes to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In the northeast we abolished slavery a century before the civil war - we had and still do have some of the same businesses owned by family to this day - yall heard of Frederick Douglass, Lincolns friend? Fun fact - call them kings or chiefs they were the kingdom like Louis The Sun King said I am the state well they owned the land and everyone everything on it including the women.

@Aquarius Waive: I'm curious to know what are your thoughts on Frances Cress Wesling and Neely Fuller? They are pretty much the architects of the concept of White Supremacy/ Racism. Happy New Year bro

I saw evidence suggesting my people were enslaved in the continental United States well b4 ANY Africans; ever heard any present-day Irish tracing their modern prob’s to colonial times? Didn’t think so… truth be told I’d be too prideful or embarrassed to correlate my modern problems with such things. I detest pity. Whereas black culture appears to need it and badly; I don’t like the idea of being seen as ‘handicapped’ by some imaginary force of will that exists to solely be against me and just me…. I’d feel you can have the pity OR the dignity, NOT BOTH.
