I feel like whites are pressured by blacks to some how prove there's not racist

SAY IT AGAIN! And it's not our responsibility to educate non black people on racism -we always learn other histories, learn ourselves for once and educate yourself on racism. The emotional labour is too much and moretime these protests are global, more than George Floyd - it's changing things and hopefully for the better!✊🏾

Honestly I feel like I've pressured myself to keep myself updated at all times and I know I exhaust myself but I'll feel guilty if I miss something important.

I, an Indian, living in India support the movement BLM and yes other races -white and brown , Middle Eastern and east Asians, all have to educate themselves about racism against Black people, its time to take some burden from black people's shoulder. You people have been going on for centuries and it's inspiring and heartbreaking at the same time. Hope life gets easier for you guys now...you deserve a stress free life from all the racial profiling. Entire world is with you people. BLACK LIVES MATTER.

I'm white but I've been working really hard on stopping my racist family members from being such awful people. Every time I go on Facebook it's full of boomers saying aLL LiVeS mAtTeR and i just get so mad!! You are right to take a break, it's not your responsibility and you don't need that burden of fear and being scared. You are strong for acknowledging that you're tired and taking a break ❤ I've signed many petitions and I wish I could do more to help but I'm high risk so it's not safe for me to go outside and protest

I was feeling so shameful and useless because even though I've been signing petitions and spreading awareness, I haven't gone to protests. I have an anxiety disorder and I can't risk my family getting the virus. But it's not our responsibility to heroines. We deal with this shit everyday. We already go through it all the time. We could die as well. It's draining to have pressure to educate people and spread awareness and protest everyday. Take a break

i just deleted all my social media’s and i definitely felt guilty about leaving, i felt bad because before from the day George Floyd died, i was posting about police brutality for 11 days, signing petitions and watching the news...everyday. it became straining, trying to tackle local racists and everything. i just needed the break but this video made me feel less guilty. i sort of deserve to be able to leave the reality for one second because it hurts too much. so thank you.

Yes! There is such a stigma that women are unhumanly strong. I get it seems like a compliment, but Give us the same feminitity and gentleness that you give white women

It's a joke that people rely on black people to dismantle white supremacy!!! I have been attending protests here in Ireland and signing as many petitions as I can to do my part and so should everyone else! Take a break girl you deserve it 💖💖

It's sad because the way my dad had to explain it to me was, that man George Floyd could have been me, it could have been my dad, it could have been anyone in my family, and that is terrible

You’re right! It’s shouldn’t be us having to speak on our history in order for us to know it. White people didn’t have to literally talk about it or protest their way into America! All they did was put it in history books and that what the default history class is already. Everyone should want justice for everyone but black people and other minority groups are needing it the most this day in time

Thank you so much for saying this. I’ve been struggling so much and my mental health was deteriorating so much just from the social media pressure. I felt so much guilt for not continuously posting. I felt ashamed for deleting my social media. As if it was wrong to take care of myself. I really appreciate you speaking up about this.

I’m proud of you. ❤️ We got you. I can’t speak for all white people, but I know myself and people I’ve met at protests know it’s our responsibility to educate ourselves and demand change and equality. I hear you and I agree with what you said about it not being black people’s (women’s especially) responsibility to dismantle the system. Y’all deserve a break honestly. It’s time white people pick up the slack and get this shit moving. Also yeah defund the police 100%, they’re truly terrifying and don’t need money for more than doughnuts my god

Everyone can help in their own way!I dont have social media and I dont participate to rallies and protests because I fear for my safety (and tbh i think black men should be out there) but I donate to causes, sign petitions and buy black. In the future I want to volunteer to help black girls but I cant find a specific organisation.

Thank you for sharing this message. I deleted the Instagram app before George Floyd's death, and I felt like SUCH an asshole for resisting the temptation to re-download it and get on my social media activism tip... THE ONLY THING THAT KEPT ME FROM DOING IT was reminding myself every hour of the day that it's okay to cope in whatever way makes you feel comfortable. Taking SEVERAL steps back from social media is how I cope, and I know this might not be the same for everyone, but there is nothing wrong with distancing yourself from the trauma for your own mental health and wellbeing. ANYWAY, I wish I lived in NYC so I could PULL UP to your march, but just know----you have my support from the sidelines, sis! Keep up the amazing work.

I have a question:Since I'm white I am not the one to decide if it's alright or not. I saw some things send to minors and like that at ejust bad. As an example:on tumblr a minor (like 15/16) got send anon hate that she sees the BML movement as just a trend but also go insulted in it. And the girl explained that she donated what she could and nearly got thrown out by her family since they are very conservative and idk I just think that the time the anon used to insult a minor would have been better if they used for someone over 18 since they can like vote and all. But like I'm white and it could be that's just bad from my privilege point of view but is actually pretty valid? I would be happy if you would answer it but I get it if you don't.
