I can relate so much! I put on weight in first year of uni, then in second year restricted my calories to 1000 calories a day and lost 2.5 stone... but I became obsessive about my calories and was always hungry and always thinking about food. Period stopped and I decided to be less strict with myself. Managed to maintain my weight since then give or take a few lbs but I definitely still feel how you describe about being guilty about snacking and being afraid to gain weight. Thanks for speaking so candidly, I think it’s refreshing to here someone talk so openly about their relationship with food, and how it’s still not perfect. I’m so happy for you to start this journey and you’ve inspired me to stop caring so much/ being afraid to gain weight 💓

100% - once you become aware of the numbers it’s so hard not to obsess over them! Over the past week or so I’ve been trying really hard to reject the thought of calories as soon as they come into my head before I start counting numbers! I have found Jameela Jamil’s description of weight to be super helpful in reevaluating what “I weigh”- instead of thinking about the number on the scale, she focuses on what they ‘weigh’ as a sum of their experiences, achievements and who they are as a person!❤️

Good video, thanks for making it. :) I have struggled with Anorexia and when I first found your channel and looked back to older videos they did seem a bit eating disordered / Orthorexic. Have been enjoying your lockdown videos!

thanks for making this. People are quick to spout about mental health etc but stigma doesnt actually change until people admit personally their own struggles. I sometimes wondered if you had orthorexia. Well done and good luck in your recovery/journey x

That’s so interesting that you had wondered if I had orthorexia- that makes it even more important to me that I’m open about it! Thank you so much ❤️ x
