This video is an absolute favourite one to me.I could relate so many things from this one. I m an introvert and it took so long time to realize that thing. After all years of self criticism and self disapproval even after I realized that I m an introvert , it took another long period to accept myself. Wat I felt was , it feels so good and better and easy to accept myself rather than trying to change like an extrovert. But enjoyed juggling into various self help books and pdfs and articles and speeches reading about introversion.. Please do upload many videos about introversion :)

Yeah i can relate... its just bc im an introvert, doesnt mean im the most useless in group projects. My classmates ALWAYS and i do mean ALWAYS tells me that im the most useless person in the group, its not my fault its their's fault, they only give me weak jobs to be done very easily bc they think im stupid. And before this pandemic happends i always get 85+ score (considered good in my school) and my classmates just keep describing me as that one jerkish suspicious guy that no one wants to be friends with. And the pandemic makes it worse, my friends dont want to even group up with me for a group project online. But when i do solo all those group projects i got like the 3rd if not the 2nd best score on them. And my friends just kept saying "he probably stole it from somebody, or he pay someone to do it for him!" (Cuz my family is rich). I dont know what i should do to prove them wrong.

LOVE IT. Dude, this was exactly me. While at a new school in the 6th grade, and into the 7th, I was relentlessly bullied and harassed by a group of aggressive tools I hadn't ever done anything to, especially this one POS in my class and his older brother. It wasn't just verbal, either, there were plenty of physical encounters. One day, I just finally had it and threw all caution to the wind and told myself I would happily accept whatever the results were, but I was going to rear up and do something. I can't even remember exactly what he had done that sent me over the edge, but one morning, early during English class, as I was walking my homework up to put on the teacher's desk, I walked by his desk, stopped briefly, swing my hips and drove my fist into the side of his head with everything I could muster. There was a tremendous "thud" from the fluid in his skull cavitating as he went flying out of his seat, and he let out of a spontaneous "F**K" after landing on the floor. The teacher, who was writing on the chalkboard at the time and had her back to the class, wheeled around and demanded to know the reason for his outburst. He pointed at me and wailed that I had sucker punched him, which of course, I had. She asked me if it was true, and I denied it. She sent him down to the principal's office. Later in the hour, the vice principal came and pulled me out of class to talk to me out in the hallway about the incident, and he asked me point-blank if I had struck him. Again, I had already accepted I was going to be punished as a result of what I did before I even did it, but in that moment, time seemed to freeze, and I had a startling realization: 10-15 other kids in that class saw what happened, and not a single one of them uttered a word to rat me out or to defend the bully. I was a quiet, bookish kid who didn't have beef with anyone, so I knew it wasn't because anyone feared any retaliation from me, and instantly realized what had to be the truth: they believed he deserved what he got. Which, of course, he did. Which meant it was just. So I looked that VP in the eye and confidently said "No, I didn't." The bully received in-school suspension for his use of profanity in class, and I walked free. That kid and his brother never even spoke a word in my direction again.

No ask me how I am doing and it's ok...I am used to this peace...And It's kinda making my solitude more powerful. From last six years...I go to restro alone...I go to cinema alone... It's very crazy to say but I watched 9 movies in theatre all by myself on a single month. And in this last 6 years.. I've watched around 250 to 300 movies in theater All by myself alone. It always annoyed me when someone tells me to "speak" or "say something" just for the sake of talking when I really have nothing to say because I am either thinking or observing or just listening. One of the reasons I hate attending parties and gatherings is not because I hate people but because I wouldn't want to ruin other people's mood. As some people aren't used to quiet people like me, they would often tell me indirectly that I'm killing the mood of the party/gathering. I can talk if I actually have something to say or if there are people who would actually listen, but most of the time, they just want me to talk for the sake of talking. They don't really care. Today morning a classmate just attacked me for being an introvert. It hurt me a great deal coz it's not the first time someone is doing that. Only that this one was a little extra harsh. Being an introvert is really difficult especially in college where everyone expects you to always have something to say about everything. They expect you to be outgoing and the "hello" you say while passing by is never enough for them. They take one's quietness for a weakness, low self esteem and confidence. They literally take you to be a weakling! Incapable of doing anything at all. Whereas the truth is that introverts prefer it that way. I personally hate small talk. And unless something is really of importance/ relevant to me at that particular time, then I'd rather not get involved in it. But of course there are two people you lose yourself around. You can talk about anything with them freely. I feel that the world should just look at everything from the bigger picture.

Do it. You'll be happier if you make friends and meet new people and have fun conversations. A study found that introverts who were compelled to act like extroverts were happier as a result. It's not really that hard to talk to people. It takes a bit of practice, but once you get it down it will seem weird you ever thought it was a problem. One thing to remember is that most people are just like you- most people are shy when meeting someone for the first time, most people get self conscious sometimes, everyone sometimes struggles to come up with stuff to talk about. All that is natural, even relatable to most people.

And after a real traumatic incident, I was shaken up so badly that I completely shut down 😖 But now, I'm doing alright... It's a work-in-progress. I got to know about the extroverts and introverts. But going even further, I learnt that there were more classifications like in the 12 temperament theory, and the 16 MBTI personality types. It's been really helpful to me 😊 I really like this one channel in particular, if you wanna check it out (Frank James). He goes into these things really well, makes really funny and relatable jokes about these types of stuff (it's just wholesome all around😌). And I found I wasn't as alone in this as I thought. You know what...my mom is an introvert like me but she doesn't know ...and somehow she never found a person who could understand the importance of one on one conversations in her life...she was always surrounded by extroverts in a joint family where everyone thought they understood her but didn't knew even a glimpse of her personality ....now when she sees me making choices just like her....she fears that I might also end up being alone in a crowd....she considers being introvert as a mistake..... generations of people like us have been overlooked and misunderstood ....sad for all those who will never get another chance to be themselves Infront of society!! This kind of awareness is necessary so that many people can feel free of compulsions the orthodox society forces on them!

Too relatable 🙂 When my cousins or any relatives come to our home , it takes me time to adjust with them . Bcoz of this nature of mine everybody keeps telling be "Why are you so quiet ? Be like your sister becoz she is an extrovert !" It takes me much longer time to adjust with new people but once I'm comfortable with them then I used to talk with them confidently 😀

Thank you so much for making this video. My whole life I’ve been known as the “shy girl”. I was and still am terribly insecure about it. Fast forward to about a month ago, I went to a party and I felt so out of place and my mind keeps telling me it’s because I’m an introvert so I’m shy and can’t talk to people. When you said “Accept that you can’t please everyone” I suddenly felt the urge to cry. Of course I’ve heard this before, but living in the society of extroverted people your constantly being told being an introvert is a bad thing, or automatically assume you want help. I need to realize that one party, and one situation like that doesn’t define who I am as a person. Another thing I struggle with is that I already don’t have a lot of friends, and when I’m not listening to people I’m perfectly happy with that. But there is this one friend (let’s call her Sarah). Ive known Sarah since kindergarten and we’ve been friends ever since, but lately (the past year) ive noticed we’ve been drifting apart. We don’t have alot in common anymore and ive been trying my best to tell Sarah my interests and all that but I don’t think she’s taking the hint. I feel like I’m so afraid of losing her even though I’m not any happier having her as my “friend” right now. I’m so happy that I got to watch this video, because it isn’t another case of “extrovert thinks you need help” and it’s from another introvert whom has struggled with the same thing as me. I’m really hoping instead of “becoming more social” I can accept myself on this journey of self improvement.

Every time I'm with my class, people I dont't know very much or even sometimes with my family I'm doing or saying really dumb things because (Or maybe I'm an idiot after all? Who knows) theres a lot of negative thoughts in my mind like ,,You're an idiot'' "Nobady's listening to you" or just simply the 'awareness' that I for sure will make an idiot out of myself or I'm going to do something wrong even at the most basic activities such as shopping. And yeah, most of the time that's how it happens. But as I'm alone I feel more confident about myself because I know that if there's noone around nobody's gonna laught at me or judge me, I can focus on the problem or a task, think about it and solve it. It's fucking annoyng.

I don’t even like being around people that talk a lot, because to me it’s just meaningless jibber. I would much rather be alone with my thoughts or a book or pretending to be on my phone. Sorry I guess that being an introvert is actually being antisocial. Being an introvert and having a best friend who is an extrovert is great, provided you understand each other. You can go to social do's, and the extrovert does the talking, breaks the ice, introduces you to people who they know be able to get along with, or if they're really good breaks the ice with a person you're interested in and then steps back at the right moment to leave you alone with them and also know when to rescue you. 😁 For the Extrovert they know they have a real friend, someone for whom a friend isn't some superficial thing, but someone who has your back in the difficult times, somebody they know they can call at 3am when life is too much.

Being an introvert doesn't mean being self conscious or having low self esteem.Maybe some people have these problems but that doesn't mean all introverts are shy and lack confidence...It simply means that these people enjoy their own company more, they know the value of time so they don't spend time gossiping or going to weekend parties..They spend time reading books and working towards their goals that develop them as a person..And the biggest irony is that they don't really feel shy while talking, infact many of them have great speaking skills because they have the patience to listen and understand. They just don't spend time speaking about things that don't matter to them. Well I'm not a complete introvert but I too enjoy my company..But I enjoy hanging out with friends and socializing💖

I had a therapist in high school who considered being an introvert a form of mental illness. He claimed it was part of "Antisocial personality disorder" I was also on the autism spectrum. I went through some form ABA education (Appropriate Behavior Analysis) My parents and aunt wanted me to become an extrovert. They said being an introvert was bad for me, I'd never be successful. They would force me to go to large family parties. They forced me to talk to every person there. I had to shake hands and make small talk. My therapist said I spent too much time alone. I had a few friends and went out socially with them. I was friends with them since I was in grade school. My therapist and family said I needed to make new and more friends. (They wanted me to spend time with mentally ill and people on the autism spectrum) They said I should "stick with my own kind" SMH! I fought them and kept my old friends. They decided to commit me to a mental institution then make me live in a group home. Where I could "get socialized. They told me "it was for my own good" They wanted me to stop being an introvert because it would make me become a sociopath. I had a huge breakdown. I had no privacy there. Had to share a room with 3 other people. I wasn't allowed to have anytime to myself. I had to be with someone at all times. After my breakdown, my parents realized that it was wrong to force me to change. I told them I was an introvert and not "anti-social" I am glad there are KZbin videos toady that show being an introvert isn't bad.
